I was just wondering, to make the game more graphical, would it ever be possible to add an image to different weapons? I was wondering if, if that would work, would it be compatible with the mysticalshop? (you know, the mod u can make your own weapons) I have had several requests from my users to make an image for the weapon and or armour that they have bought. please email me at jhend60<at>gmail<dot>com

Yes, it is possible.

You do, however, not tell *where* you want to display them *nor* what game version you use.

(I don't know that shop, sorry)

check out the "addimages" from Lonny how he does it.

You will have to get a general hang for the module concept.

I'm sorry... are you asking for someone to write a module that does this or are you asking for help doing it?

I am asking for help from the community about making this mod. I really would appreciate the help. I tested the Battle Pics mod by by Dorian and eph , but it does not seem to work on 1.1.1 for some reason. I got the pics working, but it always seemed to show the forest image for every creature, even though I specifically did what it said.

It would be great to get more image support in the game.
Maybe the maker of  Mystical Shop could consider adding this feature later on.

realise mods are usually written by someone who has decided to host a server and wants to customise it.  they either already know PHP or they take the time to learn how to code in it in order to write what they want for their server.

when an idea is presented by a non-coder, it may be of interest to someone who knows how to code. they may write it.  then again, it may never be.

please do not think that simply by submitting an idea it will automagickally be written for ye.  ye may need to wait awhile for someone to produce it if they find the idea interesting.

also, ofttimes ideas are too difficult or not practical for this game.  ye may want to locate other open source game code that is more in line with what ye want for a game that ye can customise.

I too am having the same problem with the Battle Images modules, displaying always the default image regardless of following the instructions to the letter. I would love to have more graphics in my game, specificly if i could get the same kind of forest fight battle images as Nightborn's games, I would be ecstatic Cheesy

Have fun.

As you may see, one line of really working code (<img> tag)

Notice that the "battle" hook is high-load, but there is no other way and no better link.

Also, jhend, "I am requesting this module to be made"
Where did I overlook that we are a service community, paid to service lotgd games? You may +ask nicely+ for stuff, but nobody will lift even a finger if he has no own interest.
And for instance, I certainly don't.

Sorry about that, I was trying to be formal. I will respect this community more from now on.
Thankyou for your support, jhend60.

Thank you very kindly Nightborn, I will use it well and be thankful for the opportunity. One quick question however; naming conventions. I see that the image name has to be the creatures name then level and be a .gif, but how is the creature name formatted? Ex: If a creature was a level 5 Dark Bat, would it be Dark BatLv5.gif or Dark_BatLv5.gif or darkbatLv5.gif ...you get the idea. Thanks again!

Ok. I have got the mod attached by Nightborn, and for some reason, even if I set it up properly, It does not seem to work.
Here's What I did
Uploaded mod
made folder /addmonsterpics inside modules
made an image for example monster
Evil Hound- lvl 16
Filename "Evil Hound Lv16.gif"
(to get the right naming, I went to http://shinobilegends.com and looked at the source of their forest fighting (I signed up, fought a monster, looked for the relative monster gif in the source)
it can have spaces as far as I know.
After all that, there is no picture showing. Because I am using datacaching, is that the problem, because in datacache there are hooks?
Is it safe to delete all the files in the datacache? Or do I have to wait for it to do it automatically?
Thanks.

Code:
if (is_module_active('addimages'))

That means you need to have addimages installed and active to see the pictures.
