I have the four main races on my server. And I have the citys that go along with them. May I ask, What hook should I add/take away to make it so the home town for all the races is the capital ?

Wouldn't setting each race to the capital city work too?

No.

You can't set the hometown of a race without editting the file itself.  Additionally, keeping multiple cities active and making the capital the hometown for all races puts everyone in a town with no forest and no master.

Yes, you could modify a bunch of files to get what you're after, but you should a) have an idea of how to go about it and b) search the site for all the instructions on how to achieve it.

I meant you can enter the Capital name in the setting of the races with cities.

So it doesn't hurt anything to install races with cities if the cities module isn't installed? That's good to know. Wink

I meant you can enter the Capital name in the setting of the races with cities.

But that wouldn't make the capital their homecity...it would just give something of the appearance of such.

Absolutely no problem.  How do you think servers with only one city have their multiple races?   Wink

Then I guess I misunderstood that. Thanks for clearing it up. Wink

I was told that by a couple of people but I wasn't sure if it would mess up if the race had a city. I thought they had edited the races or, as some of them wrote their own races, they left the cities part out. I'm glad it works like this because it makes it easier to do what I want to do now. See, I learned something else today? Wink

Thank you, sir. Wink

like Talisman said uninstall the multi-cities module, if you wish to have all of your races in the one city with no other cities,
= 1 city(capital) and x number of races

if you wish to have all the races in one town but would like other towns for players to explore, you can always use stand alone cities like cityamwayr.
or build your own with lonnys module builder.

No, you cannot. cityamwayr (and esoterra as well) also requires the multiple cities module (even if the modules does not specifically say they do).

If you want Capital + Esoterra / Polareia / Amweyr / any other special raceless city, install the citiless races.

You can even install the standard Human race to get your Romar city, and then have citiless Troll if you don't want Glukmoore.

This is really confusing me.. which probably isn't a hard thing to do (winks).

I want to remove the villages from "some" of the races that I have activated. I want to customize the races to a certain village but not the ones they came with... I want  some of those villages to go away.. far far away.. like.. poof!   Help please?

if you don't like the name of a particular city which is assigned to a core race currently but you want to have the race associated with a city, use the translator tool to change the name.

Thanks so much!!  Can you include the "how to" please? I've never fooled around with the translation tool before and have no idea what to do with it.

It puzzles me why race modules that have a built in village don't have a setting to disable it. :-/

Maybe because nobody thought that it would ever be necessary to do so? It would be nice to have a nice "if" block that disables that village... or a drop-down that allows to select whether the village, the race, or both will be active, but the original cities and races were supposed to be there together, and copies were made by people who didn't really know much about programming in new features.
