This is more of a discussion topic, but I'm not sure where it would fit better than here.

Say, for example, that you make a race that requires a certain alignment. Obviously it will not be available for selection to players who do not meet that requirement; however, things like alignment may change either way (unlike dragonkills [usually?]). What if someone becomes too good or too evil for the race? Does it matter to you?

I favor (what I consider to be) a logical approach. For something like alignment, generally, two warnings on newday, and race or specialty reset on the third (newday-intercept?). If the requirement is something less easily/frequently-changed, like race, it should be reset on the first newday (if not sooner!).

What do you think?

Hm, why not =)

newday is a bit crowded, but I see no other approach.

I always yearned for a 2nd new day page, which was hooked into.

With the default newday page showing the player the general things happening on a newday and the 2nd page showing all the "custom" things admin added via modules.

It would probably mean editing newday with something like:
if (newdaypage2 exists)
   redirect (newdaypage2)
}else{
   village.php

EDIT:  Talisman ...please MOVE this to the Idea Place

As this is not ontopic, I keep myself brief:

A second newday page is nonsense, it would be executed everytime as well as the first. I see no gain in having that.
It's the problem "how do I get to reset/set/check something after 1 gameday for the player with least effort" ... which is hard, really. I found no way so far. (except newday-runonce for _all_ users)

A second newday page can be easily generated by hooking into newday-intercept and calling page_footer there...
