I set the maximum messages per inbox to 50 and some player seems to have 1200..how is this possible? Or does this only restrict new messages?

yes, the message limit only applies to unread messages.

This behaviour will be settable in v1.1.1 .

Ok thank you. I have lowered the message auto delete to 5 days. This player just talks too much lol
