RC2 is now available.  This is nearing the final release, if not the final release.  Here's what's new in this release:

  • Translation fixes
  • few other bugs resolved.
  • XChrisX has gone through and optimized the entire system.  You should have no worries about this module slowing down your game as with RC1.
  • Sichae's PvP addon is now included.  Feedback is welcome.
  • it's a HUGE system, it is not your basic plug and play module.  If you're an idiot, you are not allowed to install this module, ever.  EVER.  I predict tons of "how do I..."s, but I urge you to try and figure it out on your own before you post here.  And if i get one PM asking for support, I will burn this forum down with gasoline.  Sorry Tal.
Basic introduction:
Hopefully you have installed and become familiar with the cityprefs module by now.  If you haven't, you're about to.  When installing dwellings modules, do not just install and activate.  I recommend you install, go through the module settings of that module, go into city prefs and adjust and settings per city there, and also into the type prefs and adjust settings for each dwelling type there.  Once everything is where you like it, I would then activate the module.  This is important because adjusting those settings can be a time consuming thing, so you don't want players being able to buy a farmhouse at the default price, if you want it to be 10x more expensive.

each file will maintain it's own version info, but all will only be available in the dwellingspack.zip.  I recommend you install Lonny's Check Version module to be sure you have the latest version of every file.

Still in developement:
Rooms and items - Dannic
User owned Inns - Sixf00t4
advanced coffers - Sixf00t4
dwelling auctioning - Sixf00t4

without further delay,
Dwellings RC2

Thanks for this early Christmas present.

Can you make it an option to reserve the coffer for the estate owner?
The way it is, people would abuse it just like the old system to transfer money and gems, so I have to deactivate keys.
(If that's scheduled for inclusion in the advanced coffers module I apologize for asking.)

That would be great.

It is planned for the advanced coffers.  for now, here's a module that will block coffers if they are not the owner.

in dwellings.php change line 787 to
Code:
modulehook("dwellings-inside", array("type"=>$type,"dwid"=>$dwid, "owner"=>$row['ownerid']));

So you can save one SQL-call in owncof.php Smiley (Also allows such savings for future modules...)

for those of you playing at home, nightborn and XChrisX's code will be added to RC2, but that won't be released until we get a bunch of fixes or some critical ones.  so you can add these yourself as they come up if you like.

^^

the $cityid which is passed over to the dwellings is always empty... so anybody can build anything everywhere...

any hints why? Eph is experiencing this problem too.

dwellings.php line 273 the if($cityid=="") should be like the following. Remark: I DON'T know why to fetch the lastid ... if there is none, $cityid will remain empty. Don't know where it is set, but this fixes the cityid-problem.

Code:
   if($cityid==""){
      $sql="Select cityid from ".db_prefix("cityprefs")." where cityname='".addslashes($session['user']['location'])."';";
      $result=db_query($sql);
      if (db_num_rows($result)==1) {
         $row=db_fetch_assoc($result);
         $cityid=$row['cityid'];
      }
   }

I missed something with tl-readiness:

change line 420 to the two following:

Code:
               output("Turns to work:");
            rawoutput("<input id='input' name='turns' width=5><br>");

First error found.
Code:
SELECT .name AS name,
                    .acctid AS acctid,
                    .level AS level,
                    .login AS login,
                    .laston AS laston,
                    .dragonkills AS dragonkills,
                    .userid FROM
                    INNER JOIN  ON .acctid = .userid
                    WHERE .setting = 'dwelling_saver'
                    and .value = 16
                    and .loggedin = 0
                    ORDER BY .userid DESC

You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AS name, .acctid AS acctid,
Call Stack:
1: db_query("SELECT .name AS name, ...") called from .../logd/modules/dwellings.php on line 1133
2: dwellings_run() called from .../logd/runmodule.php on line 32
