I could go into length by stating how much LotGD has influenced my life. It has been one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me. Over the past year of participation in the project I have met the greatest people, as well as the love of my life. I have also decided what I wish to do with my life, and that shall be a college education in Web Development and a career in something of the same.

holy lol

anyway, I think this is not too bad of a thing, it's stable, and the awesome module system should give plenty of great ways to expand the game for the foreseeable future

I am very sad to hear this, but I wish all of you well for what you will be going on to.

This game had changed my life also, when I stumbled acrossed it, I couldn't believe there was this whole different world that I never knew about!

Because of all of you I have gained so much, a new exciting hobby of learning coding and exhilerating feeling after creating something new, and meeting great people sharing the same excitement. And because of this, I humbly say, thankyou
*bows, then applauds all the great work that they all have done*  We'll miss you.

I'm not much of a poster, or a contributor (yet), as I'm learning a few basics of php & sql.

I've been playing on LotGD servers, for the past couple of years--And I'm still playing. Wink

It's a great game, and I've loved every minute of it.

Thank you, for giving us a great game.

Thank you, for your time and effort.

Thank you, because through LotGD, I've met some of the best people, who I now consider my 'extended' family.

Big thank yous.

Best Wishes, Good Luck for everything.

I dont know any of you hardly at all as I am very new here too. But I felt like I needed to send my love and appreciate your way as well. I wont be phony about being all sad to see you go, but all endings come to me with some sorrow whether they be known well or not. I will say to you all that since I have happened upon this game I have exploded onto verizons of new growth and learning of things that I never thought possible. I never knew I had this in me to learn to code and do the things that Ive been doing with my game. The "family" and "society" that has come to me from my experiences on my own game and others is something I cant explain, nor take for granted. Thank you all for making it all possible and please forgive the mushy stuff in this post. I just wanted you know that I appreciate you and sorry to see you not being here anymore. I trust you will still be "Somewhere" In all this and that you will let us know when you are. Although endings of situations are sad.. beginnings of the new ones give us hope with new things everyday. And I myself look forward to them always...

Gratefully yours,

hi, i have been on the site for almost a year now and have grown to love the game very much, and i find that i love the site more for its population and charachters and concern for its users than any other game i have tried, and i have played many online games.

I would like to say that if i am given some instruction in the operations of the site i would be happy to continue the legacy that your staff have so excellently began.

Wow! You guys blew me away with this announcement. I never saw it coming, but then I haven't been as tight-knit is the community like a lot of you have.

I'm from the old Seth Able BBS Door Game days where we thought it could never get any better than it was back then. (Remember RIP? Wink) But you guys have certainly taken the game way beyond what we had ever hoped for. It's sad to see it all end, from the originality part of things. My only hope is that your love for the game will somehow bring you all back into our fold, eventually. The hopefully, we can pick up where we are leaving off, so to speak.

Thanks again for making the Ultimate Online Game. It is a testament to your abilites as coders as well as wonderful human beings. You've brought more people together in many ways than you will ever know. I'm proud to be a part of something so great, even if it is only as a spectator most of the time.

Here's hoping to see you all again real soon. Wink

Hello everyone,

I, too, would like to say Thank You (MightyE, JT, JCP, Saucy and Booger)

I started playing LotGD when it was still 0.9.7 I think. A great amount of time has passed since then. I am running my own server by now. I did some module coding (Thanks to you Kendaer and Saucy for the great help with that) and meet wonderful people.

I would never have thought this could ever end. End in the way it was. On the other hand I am quite sure that the community will find a way to keep you work alive. I hope.

I can fully understand all of your decisions to part from the project. It must have been an awful lot of time, effort and part of your life that went into this. That's something that nobody can spare forever.

For your great work you have my sincere Thanks. It has made my life so much brighter...

Yours

Markus

p.s.: Sorry for my bad English

I sincerely hope our constant nagging about the little things didn't contribute to your burn out.  I do know how it can affect one.

Please don't be strangers.  This could not have gotten as far as it did without you.  You may not think so, but, the project does need your guidance even if you have decided to step away for a break.

I do hope that it is a break that you are taking.

Either way, thank you for all you have done in making the game what it is and putting it on the road to what it may be in the future.

I won't lie and say that the sheer number of little things asked for didn't take part of the toll, but it certainly wasn't the major part of it, or even, honestly, a large part.   For me, and for Eric, it's mostly a function of 'LoGD is now what we'd envisioned it to be when we started out'.  There isn't a challenge left, and it's not inspiring in us the passion it did when we started.   I fully intend to work on other projects, hopefully with Eric, though I know his time crunch recently is as bad as mine.

I will definately remain active here through the end of the year since I want the legacy of code I leave to be as solid and polished as I possibly can leave it.  That's a matter of professional pride for me.   How active I remain after the beginning of the year is unknown.

Actually I believe it is far from stable yet.
It all really depends on who is behind the wheel when it comes right down to it. It can and yet it can not depending on how thoughtful the person behind the wheel is or may be. When it comes to maintaining a stable game environment.

I just want to say a very heart-felt thanks to MightyE and Kendaer for starting this project and taking it so far. You've done an excellent job.

You guys have created and nurtured this game for the longest time. Now that you're stepping down to let it grow on it's own, I hope it blossoms into something bigger and better than either of you ever imagined it would.

Thanks again guys...

I have thought long and hard about the 'Good Bye' I want to write out, and in the end, I've still come up with nothing.

All I can say is, Thank you, For all of your hard work, your time, effort, and most of all, your Brains.

May the Legacy of the Green Dragon Continue!
