Is there an argument type forest?

Code:
$args['type'] == 'forest'

Yes. Look at my Slayer's Guild, it is used upon battle-victory, to check forest.

Code:
case "battle-victory":
   if ($args['type']=='forest'){
      slayerguild_endbattle();
   }
break;

If you didn't understand anything in the above post, don't try to attempt anything suggested.

Thanks... figured there had to be a module that used it.

the args depend on the hook you're using. turn on the good old debug flag and add
Code:
debug($args);
in module_dohook to see what's on the menu ;)
