a friend put up a game in august of 2003, and after a month or so, he started getting db connect errors and people stopped playing it.  so i said, i would host it.  Then i started to incorporate sourceforge mods (anpera's golden egg was the first)  The i found Robert, asked him for all his modified files (darn i was a noob) and he was like the father i never had:)  he sent me a message to check out DP, and here i am still!  Thanks Robert!

What's your story?

I think I found it through sf.net if I'm not mistaken.  Smiley

Edit: Nope just remembered that a friend posted a link to central on a message board that I help admin. It's been a down hill ride ever since!

Well...I got to playing Kings of Chaos and Lords of Legend during the boring steps of an IT course I was on.  Found both games desperately lacking in many areas and got it into my head to try writing a BRE styled php game.

During my search for php code samples, I stumbled onto the Sourceforge LOTGD page.  After checking out the game for what I thought would be a brief few days, I got hooked.  I also realized that my previous ambitions were far beyond my capabilities to execute properly.

Now here I is...and here I's staying... Grin

I was playing a text-based mud ( Shocked) and there was a Legend of the Red Dragon imitation on there. A friend searched for Legend of the Red Dragon, and found a few LotGD games. I played it for a while, wanted to make my own. Found the 0.9.7 files on Sourceforge and got my site setup. Then, I was playing Roberts Maddnet game, and saw the link for Dragonprime.

Amusingly enough, I was a KoC player when I started up my LoGD server.. I think I saw a link to it from somewhere.   Most of the original Dragoncat.net server players were KoC players from the Inktank Army Smiley

I was searching for browser based RPG's, like reincarnation(don't tell anyone...). When I played to the LoGD site, I started searching for more LoGD sites and played them. Then I became a MOD to one of them. And one day, another MOD which is a friend of mine introduced dragonprime to me.

Well, I didn't know LotGD existed. I ran LORD way back in the day on my BBS. I remembered it one day randomly and decided to try and start coding a new, private version of it for my website using Javascript. I got hung up on a perticular piece of coding and went looking for the answers. Low and behold in my search, I stumbled across LotGD and went "well starting that was a waste of my time, someone beat me to it.... wait, that means I can play and don't have to code it from scratch! Horrah!"
