What exactly are the differences between the two versions?

I haven't had a chance to look at the code, but is it impractical to use just one file, with the advanced features toggled on or off?

Damn...what an amazing mod...

 Shocked

It is immediately apparent that a lot of work has gone into this..I will take a look and see how it unfolds..

Well done, everyone involved

maybe you can break some of the options out into their own modules.  That way if people don't want them they dont' have to install that module?

I don't know if that's possible since I haven't actually looked at or installed this but it is something to consider.

Your right. It is possible to do that... The only problem is that most of the module is fairly dependent upon itself. It would be real close to a complete re-write to be able to remove any "bulk" amount of code.

This is one option I had considered, although splitting this module up into a world editor, terrain editor, etc. Makes it more of a pain for updates and would consume 2x as much time for me. So this has been ruled out.

How much of a speed difference is there right now between the two versions?

Can someone compare page gen times?

IMO in its current configuration the difference is unnoticable.

You can try my main site at: http://logd.ecsportal.com
and my beta site at:
http://logdtest.ecsportal.com

My main site runs 1.5F
Test site runs 0.6K

Wow.  I love it.  It was quick, and quite nifty.

Now, when you mention 8-point compass, I was only able to move N,S,E,and W.  Is that how it's supposed to be?

I was playing on the test server, which I believe is running 0.6K

Wandering the village, jaw agape, is Farmboy brendan.

Might pay to check that out lol...tho it is a test server...

I noticed that as well.  But he is only level 1.  It doesn't look like he's really played on the server, merely created a character.

correct me if i am wrong, but this does not allow for special events, right?  I can see this being used as a forest replacement, instead of guaranteeing creature encounters with the core forest, make them walk around and look for them!
