For version .97 (this board) or version .98 (next board)?

How are you travelling between towns?  This is all custom code, so you need to provide more information about your setup so proper answers can be provided.

One thing you may do is check with Strider on his Forest2 code written for 0.9.7. He never made it completely public afaik but it wouldn't hurt to ask. That could give you a basic idea of how to do the travel.

aye, Striders Forest2 is available in Striders Shared Files and it also states that it is NOT supported, you're on your own!
But if you have a clue on game dynamics and php coding,  Forest2 still requires you to work it a bit to get it going right, it is NOT a drop in folder type mod, but it is not too diffcult for those familiar with what I said.
Forest2 has so much potential to do so many things but because of BETA 098 PreRelease and the fact the file required an experienced hand to make it work, it was never fully expolited.
Forest2 can be fully customized to do much more than just travel. I currently use 3 differant versions in our dragon game and 2 versions of Forest2 in our rabbit realm, if interested, log into game and travel the Deep or Dark Forests.
Each forest has its own creatures and special events.

well, i'd try to implement travelling, few places, one main crossroads file, it takes few forestfight to get frome one location to another (mount decreases time), encounters during the travel, and travel also makes you hungry so you must have some food packed (lonny's mod)....

and i'll take a look at the strider's file

thanks
