I'm new here, and I hope I'm asking this question in the right room. I have searched everywhere for an answer to my question, but haven't been able to find anything useful. If this has been answered before, then feel free to link to the topic.
I'm trying to install the game on an Ubuntu server running Apache, mySQL, PhpMyAdmin and php version 7. First I had a lot of trouble on starting the installer, because it just gave me a blank screen. I found a fix here on the forum, something about changing a line to mysqli instead of mysql in one of the files. So far so good.
Now to the issue:
The installer does not give me any errors when connecting to the database, and everything have the status "pass" in stage 5.
When I go to stage 6, examine the database, I'm just getting a blank screen. No errors at all.
The first time it happened, I managed to continue, I'm not sure on how I did that, and then I got a lot of errors then it tried to create the tables in the database. Afterwards, I got the issue where accounts couldn't be written to the database.
I have tried to start from scratch multiple times, both redownloading the game and removing the database and user, but I always get stuck at stage 6.
I'm sure my database user have full access to everything, otherwise I don't expect stage 5 gives the status of pass in all checks.
I'm also sure my lotgd folder have access to MySQL. If not, then it should have given me an error already in stage 5?
I don't know much about php, but I'm able to change some code if required. I don't know anything about databases at all, and I have never tried to change anything in a database, but I might be able to do so if required. I have seen other topics with similar issues where people gave up. But I'm not giving up, since I have wanted to host the game for a lot of years.
Any clue on how to bugfix on this issue? I know it is something at my end which is wrong, but I have no idea on where to start or how to bugfix on this. Wordpress is working just fine on my server.
