Many of you may have received emails from PayPal telling you to change some things to be compliant with their new security standards, or you may have future issues. Here is payments.php updated for their changes to IPN Verification Postback. You should also ensure your system is HTTP 1.1/TLS 1.2/SHA256 compatible (it probably is) and get yourself the necessary certs. This is not urgent, it won't take effect until June 30 2017, but do it now and you won't have to worry about it.

Can you post the changes that need to be made for those of us with modified payment.php files?

This document describes the changes: https://www.paypal-knowledge.com/infocenter/index?page=content&id=FAQ1492&pmv=print&impressions=false&viewlocale=en_US
It should be obvious what changes to make based on the document.

Got it, thanks. It's been updated in the bugs-fixed version of the core.

Also worth noting that post-backs will not be in HTTP anymore, instead going through HTTPS. Everyone will need a SSL certificate.

To which I can recommend to use https://letsencrypt.org/ if one needs a certificate.

This link no longer works...

See the original post, and Google "PayPal June 30, 2017" or "PayPal HTTP 1.1/TLS 1.2/SHA256".

The changes have already been made in the updated version of 1.1.2.

I don't believe they do, but I just wanted to confirm - do any of the changes listed at https://www.paypal-notice.com/en/ affect LoGDs?

I don't think so, but I'll double-check against the source code later.

Update:
Nope, because the only thing in there that relates to code is changes regarding GET, which isn't used in payment.php. So unless I've forgotten and there is further code elsewhere that does, the only changes that may need making are on the server.

No, and yes. No changes are needed in the core's code. Servers need to implement SSL as mentioned before:

That is something your host should be doing, right?

Okay, just wanted to check. Thanks for that.

TGTarheel, did you mean to say something, or did you need your presence in this thread?
