Some days being me just isn't worth it.

Went to this site tonight.. my character was created some time back.. number 70 out of 111.
But.. because I am a lowly jr mod on Tynastera I was sent this message by the site owner.

Now.. a few weeks back he asked me to do a link exchange so I created my char then to look around. I even sent the co-owner a message saying I liked the colors. I reminded him that back then.. I was sharing links and a coder with Tynastera and by his rules I wouldn't be approved to link with him.

So.. to tonights message.
I take this as a threat to my personal information.. my email and such.

You appear on a staff list and you mysteriously show up here, for no reason, and do not even role play. I could decrypt your password, and log into Tynastera, or your emails, if wanted. Sure I won't find any messages about something that would make me feel spied on? xD

Just to game. I am trying to find a place to chillax.
I thought this was an open site with some fun rp.

Why are you here?

md5 is a one way hash function. If this were truthful, it would be impossible to decrypt. Unless however, your password is password, the most known md5. xD Enjoy your stay at of The Round. Wink

...

MD5 is cracked with a rainbow table set in about 0.x seconds.

With calculating those, it could take (depending on the password length, which won't exceed 8 digits mostly) an hour or so.

MD5 on lotgd is not salted. That is a major risk. MD5 itself is weak and quite obsolete.

So basically, he could try to get the password, or at least one with the same hash Wink  they are not unique.

I know this has naught to do with me, this is just a question, but.. if it's so hard to decrypt, why'd you say what you said in the first place? o.O

Drama from other sites has no place in DragonPrime.  Resolve these issue privately, and do not bring them here.

If anybody wishes to discuss the security of MD5, start a topical thread in the appropriate area.
