Make YoM link flash

I saw on a site where the link for mail, every time you get a new one flashes.  Does anyone know how to do this?  If so could you tell me?

Do you mean blink? If so, why would you want to use it? Blink is the most obnoxious web effect I have ever discovered, and most other web designers would agree with me. However, if you want to use it, then just use the HTML blink tag.

. However, you would have to modify the core, which I will not help you do. JollyGG's right. I never mess with templates, so I didn't think about it. Since I don't mess with templates often, I'll leave it to JollyGG to help you. I'm sure he could give you a better fix than me.

However, I must warn you that some browsers do not even support the blink tag anymore. I know for sure Microsoft IE doesn't. Firefox still does. Other than that, I don't know. Also, it's not even in the HTML 4.01 tag list on W3 Schools.

I know what he is talkin about as well, as on the site "Tynastera" has it, seems good for when your a fast gamer and don't realise you have mail and such, and it blinks the colours and your like "oh" lol, I use google chrome, and it works fine on there, same as firefox. It's not that bad, I kinda like it.   

P.S. It does get annoying if you still have mail in there and you ignore it LOL XD

Go one step further and use CSS to change the cursor.

Create your own cursor with "got mail" on it and have that appear when there are new Yoms.

Lol, nice Marc. And yeah, that's hat she's referring to, but I got her setup to the CSS text-decoration: blink; currently and she likes that. Now she wants me to hurry up and modularize my Live YoM Update system..lol

Megan and Tny? Our code on TY for the rainbow blending text in the Ye Olde Mail link is not hard to do... Google is your friend... But I can't give you our code without the admins approval, would be rude. You can ASK GoldenMaiden via petition, she and I believe in Creative Commons, you know.

Have you attempted to look through your template files, to tweak them, and see if you can figure it out on your own? Tis not hard to do, as I found it within a few moments. Find where your template files are, and search through them. I'm sure it most likely will pop out at you.
