When I click on my Grotto link from either of two accounts, it takes a long time, then gives me a server error, but won't tell me what.  I am running 1.1.2 Dragonprime Edition.  I do not know which module is causing this.  It must be a module because I have reinstalled it from scratch multiple times to fix the problems, and the problem only appears after I install the modules.  I deactivated some via mySQL, and hope these changes worked.  Here is a list of all the modules I have, and whether mySQL says they are active or not:

I realize I have a lot of inactive modules; some are waiting for more players, others were deactivated to try to fix this problem.

First thing you need to do is confirm that EVERY file in the modules folder is a valid 1.x.x module, and not a mod from a previous version or module related files that belong in a subfolder.

Either of those instances will generally give you issues.

Next, check all modules which interact with the grotto to confirm their validity.

Have you modified any files?

I modified home.php, but that shouldn't effect this, and it was after the problem anyway. I believe the only old modules are inactive.  I got everything from the downloads page here, with the exception of a few races that were created with the module builder.  Unfortunately, I cannot continue to create  cities/races with it without grotto access.

Do you have access to your server's error logs? The message in there will help narrow it down.

If you have a plesk or cpanel control panel then you should have access to this log.

I have cPanel. I see activity log, but that is not what we are looking for.  Where is the error log?

There should be a section titled Logs. The error log will be listed there. If it only lists the last 300 errors, then keep it open and go visit the grotto to produce the error again. Then refresh the error log window a couple of times.

The Cpanel demos show the section and even though these are the latest versions, the old ones had them as well from what I remember.

Doesn't seem to be in the 000webhost cPanel.  I'm not sure what I did, but I had a seperate copy of LoGD on the same server, so I edited its dbconnect.php file to use the new database, and used mySQL to uninstall some modules, and now it somehow works. Now I am having issues with the module manager. The first problem with it was solved by fixing odinbless.php so that it wasn't all on one line, as it had some single-line comments. The current problem points to
Code:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function racesupden_install() in /home/a2410321/public_html/test/lib/modules.php on line 1365
where I found the following
Code:
if ($fname() === false) {
I realized that there were three equals, so I edited it to read
Code:
if ($fname() == false) {
The problem was solved by fixing that code, although I was not trying to install the Superior Denizen module at the time.  However, I thought that that error in the code was important. I will pm it to Talisman as well.

Although the error was reported as being in modules.php, it should be remembered that the module files (or portions) are run as part of modules.php.  Your clue is the "undefined function racesupden_install()" portion of the error message.

The function names of a module MUST be the same as the filename...so you need to locate the file containing functions prefixed with "racesupden", then ensure the filename and all function prefixes are the same.

I already dealt with that.  Apparently, it was trying to require a module that did not exist.

Note that changing "===" to "==" is not a fix.  The problem you encountered was because (for reasons not clear at this point, but it wouldn't surprise me if caching was one of them) your installation was trying to install a nonexistent module ("racesupden").  Or at least, a module without an install function.  That is the error that needed fixing, and it seems to have coincidentally cleared up after your change, possibly due to other changes you made, or due to cache expiration.

I haven't figured out which module.  I have been keeping a whole group uninstalled.  And the problem persisted after I fixed the Superior Denizen race module.
