This is a modified version of the core module 'Character Restorer v1.0' written by Eric Stevens.

Instead of searching for a name, you get an open menu with all the names and a time showing how long ago they were deleted. You can select more than one to delete, but only the first selected will be restored if you click the restore button.

Important: Please make sure that the directory the files will be saved in does exist and that it is writeable (chmod 0777).

Please post feedback, bugs, etc. Smiley

Hey, umm, I downloaded this and installed it and got this white box popping up on each screen.  It says:
Code:
Call Stack:
2: opendir("./logd_snapshots/") called from /home/vol5/xtreemhost.com/xth_3474508/htdocs/index/modules/charrestore.php on line 58
3: charrestore_dohook("superuser", Array()) called from /home/vol5/xtreemhost.com/xth_3474508/htdocs/index/lib/modules.php on line 515
4: modulehook("superuser", Array(), true) called from /home/vol5/xtreemhost.com/xth_3474508/htdocs/index/superuser.php on line 90

Not real sure if it's suppose to do that or not. >.>

You need to create a folder that's writable for the deleted character files to be saved in.

By default it looks for a folder called ./logd_snapshots which is in your root. You can change this on the module settings page, but just remember to change it to an existing folder that's writable. Smiley

Man, I should really get some more sleep. >.>  Thanks, heheh.

Edit: Okay, I'm now lost on what you said.  Does the folder have to be on my computer or on the server's directory thing?

Hi,

Is it possible to have a "mass restore option" ?

Or is there a way to restore all the players saved at once?

My server got off-line for 3 years, And I would like to have the users keep their char (since I'm runing the same database and files used in the past).

Regards,

Josef

Yeah it is possible, but did you not make a backup of the database before your server went off-line? Would be easier just to use that.

Hi,

Yes, I made, but all the users good "deleted due to inactivity", since for the system, it has beem more than 3 years that the user did not logon.

Altough is a good ideia to have this functionaly in this module, I've manage to use a codethat Nightborn developed and posted here in the forum to recover all the accounts. (maybe its a first steo to add this to you module).

It worked perfect, only the Clans data were not restored, but I was able to add this situation in the "history" of the game.

Thanks for your answer.

Regards,

Josef

cant move the post here herself so I copied and pasted it.....

I know this is an old thread but I have a call stack with this module that I cant seem to fix.  I'll attach the file for reference.  Anyone know a fix?

As my 1.1.1 version has 250 lines, my modified one has 350 lines (which means it is not yours) I cannot help you directly.

foreach($array as $key=>$val) has an invalid argument.

most likely, the $array is no array but a string, or NULL.

you need to do an "if (!is_array($array)) $array=array();"; which should solve that.

$array being the variable in the original foreach, of course.

I wouldnt know directly where to put it or how to fix it.  The snapshots that were taken with the old version dont work on this one it gives a sql syntax error saying the mysql code isnt up to date

this is the error:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ''209 AND dwidowner=556 AND keyowner != 556 ORDER BY keyid DESC' at line 3

it also happens when you try to delete an already restored character

I suspect you're getting that error because it's an old file and a module to do with dwellings has changed and no longer uses the settings name that's stored in the old files data.

Edit: New version uploaded. Sorry for the wait. Smiley

Most likely a dwellings module that hooks in and tries to save/whatnot. =)
Without the codelines there - nothing for me to see.
