So, this thread is for all the users/players who want to give a suggestion that the modder community will respond to. Is there a feature you'd like to see in LOTGD? Post it here and we'll all check it out.

i realize this topic has been discussed in other circles, but i would like to have an avatar for my character.

not necessary to have whilst in posting, but i think it would add to the aura of a player to be able to have a graphical depiction in their bio.

just a thought for all of ye to ponder whilst ye plot the devious ways to foil us players.

I like the idea of being able to see how much you have in the bank (Gold, Gems) as a stat display.  The bank is not that far away, but sometimes it is a drag to have to return to see how much is there.  Along that same vein, maybe an option to pay from the bank whenever you have to buy things in the Village or Castle.

add this in common.php with the others like it:

Code:
.templatereplace("statrow",array("title"=>"Bank","value"=>$u['goldinbank']))

add this where ever you want it:
Code:
addnav("pay from bank","filename.php?op=bankbuy");

then later put:
else if ($HTTP_GET_VARS[op]=="bankbuy"){
$session[user][goldinbank]-=cost;
addnav("return to wherever","wherever.php");

I myself'd like to see a way to gain different skill sets as a function of going up titles i.e.  once you reach Sir you get the option to choose "Chivalry" as a skill set containing events such as "Charge" and "Honour" as special abilities, as well as later sets such as "Royal Command" and "Heavenly Powers".

Whilst such sets would be more powerful, if you spent a DP to gain them for that title it could be balanced as skills are only used in the Forest.

That's a very cool option, Sneak. Kinda reminds me of this old game called Tradewars where there were two different title sets, on for evil, one for good.

Having races that are available after certain DK
- why not have specialties that are also DK based?
not too difficult for a server to do
- just modify your newday.

I would like to know how to add the color PINK to the game,
all my efforts to add the color PINK to the commentary has failed.
 Cry

Has any one added a color ?
If yes, please, share the details.
Thank You!

Adding color is a 2 part process....the first part is to actually add the color to the style sheets....

I'm not sure all of the stylesheets which are being used anymore...so I'll just cover the basics....

Go into newstyle.css AND yarbrough.css...and add the following two lines to the bottom:

.colLtPink   { color: #FFCCFF; }
.colDkPink   { color: #FF80FF; }

After that, you must get the appoencode function to recognize the color....to do this, pick 2 symbols which you would like to use for light and dark pink...

For the purpose of this post I'll use '8' for dark pink and '*' for light pink.....Then go into common.php, line 351...notice the "switch" statement with all of the cases...add the following lines... between the case ')' and the case 'c' code....

case "8":
    if ($nestedtags[font]) $output.="</span>";
    else $nestedtags[font]=true;
    $output.="<span class='colDkPink'>";
    break;
case "*":
    if ($nestedtags[font]) $output.="</span>";
    else $nestedtags[font]=true;
    $output.="<span class='colLtPink'>";
    break;

Once you do that, you should be able to type `8 or `* in any formatted text and display the text in "pink"...

Hope that helps!!

Done all that to add a color - still dont work.
added to all stylesheets
added entry to common
uploaded all files
Cleared cache, both IE and FireFox
Used a browser cleaner
Rebooted
Still PINK does not show in any commentary

THE Color WILL appear if used in a *title* but not when used in the commentary

Is there another entry somewhere that is being overlooked?

does it show the `8 or `* in the text when you try it?

I tried it too but it just shows the text. I even tried switching it to another character, thinking maybe the 8 key was reserved or something.. Searched the files for references to the colLt tags and such but only points to common.php and the stylesheets.

edit: if i put colltPink in instead of colltwhite under the case "&" section it works... hm

edit2: Got it to work! in common.php, look for the following line in the viewcommentary function

Code:
$row[comment]=preg_replace("'[`][^1234567!@#$%^&]'","",$row[comment]);

add in whatever characters you selected, in this case add in 8* to it like so:

Code:
$row[comment]=preg_replace("'[`][^1234567!@#$%^&8*]'","",$row[comment]);

Darn, beat me to it...

Yup,  I forgot to mention that part...On my server I already have several characters defined which are not part of the default flags so it worked when i tested it...

Anyways, glad you got it working correctly, enjoy!

The bounty code would be more useful to those of us in clans if we could see which clans the bountied people belong to.....
