Just a suggestion for the next pre-release.  It would be good to have an option in the system configuration to disable the post limits for commentary.  While this is a useful feature to prevent flooding and what not, it would be nice to have the option to disable it, as well.

Thanks,
-mP

Feel free to figure out how to do it and submit the patch to me.  Otherwise, it's probably not on my list of things to do.

commentary.php, line 405.
Replace:
Code:

With:
Code:

commentary.php, line 515.
Replace:
Code:

perhaps it should be a numeric value on how many messages someone can type?  0 for no limit.

Somewhere along the same lines...would someone know where to expand the amount that can be held in a post? I have some avid RPers and I was wondering if I could fit more in a post...

Having a number for amount of posts allowed wouldn't work out too well since it's currently based on a percentage of the screen visible, about half.

Actually, not the visible screen but the number of posts displayed in the commentary.  The more posts in the commentary area, the more posts each person has.

It would actually be nice to have two controllable options for each page containing commentary - number of visible posts, and individual post limit.

Isn't the number of post displayed the amount visible?

Guess it depends on how you interpret 'amount of screen visible'...meaning on the monitor.  Just me being difficult   Grin

Actually it would be nice to have a variable in the viewcommentary function to flag unlimited commentary.   That way a person could make a module with unlimited commentary and flags could be set for the other commentary sections of the game.

Apologies in advance if this is an idiotic question, but is there somewnere you can increase the posting limit currently, or is it hard-coded and required at it's current value.

The only way to achieve it at this time is by modifying commentary.php.
