On a side note, I have managed to do 2 mods for our server. I created a halfling race using the racetroll as a template and I modified Eric Stevens Statue mod to work on a per-village level. The main city works as usual, with MightyE's statue getting replaced with the newest hero's statue. The villages, however, use the latest hero from that village, or MightyE's statue if there are no local heroes. These are available from the modules section on our server: http://dragon.not.net

I'd specifically like to merge the statue modification back into the core after I check through it.  Assuming you don't mind of course Smiley  I might or might not want to put the halfling module into the core (I haven't looked at it yet Smiley)

Okay, checking through it, and it doesn't work.

If someone else DK's the village statue in all other villages will revert to MightyE.

Also, due to the way you did the changes, you broke the datacaching, so it will fetch from the database far more often than it should.

It's definately the right start down the path, but it's far from correct.
The biggest problem is that the 'hero' setting is global, not per-village.
It's correctable however, and I'll probably make it work correctly at some point, I was just hopeful someone else had saved me the work Smiley

Thanks for taking a look at this. How did I break the datacaching and how would I go about correcting it?
Also, on the DK clearing all village statues, I thought I had corrected this, I'll take a look. It's possible that I fixed it and didn't update the zip.

You broke the datacaching by reusing the same datacache for local village statues as was used for the global.  Which means that every time someone looks at a statue they will either get the wrong one (if the data in the cache is from a different village and the cache hasn't expired) or they will load the cache with the wrong data.

The reason for the other problem (losing the statues on a given village) is due to you reusing the 'hero' variable.  It won't match the local village most times so will show 'MightyE'.
