Do you mean a cheat that allow to delete all the existing accounts in DB ?
I've never heard of it luckily.

I actually had my server overloaded... which in turn corrupted the database as it was in the process of a write....   I have now automated my database backup to backup every few hours via cron....  I have also installed a much stronger server and seperated pqcomp from all of the other web sites I host, to seperate the load...  Also if you are running linux make sure you are running apache 2.48 or better to help prevent DoS (Denial of Service) Attacks.

the command for scheduling a cron job....

mysqldump -hlocation -uuser -ppassword dbname > /folder/backupname.sql

ok... so -hlocation: change location to the address of your mysql server (domain or IP)

-uuser: change user to the user name for db access

-ppassword: change password to your password

dbname: change to the name of your db (logd)

/folder/:  change to the folder name... I use /backup/ (mounted drive as backup folder)

backupname:  change to the name of the file you want your backup saved as..... I backup every few hours.... so I call mine logd0, logd3..... etc... the number being the military hour that I have the backup performing.

I backup every few hours that way and never have to worry about having to go back too far.  I also back up to a seperate drive, just in case.

Hope this helps.... at least those of you with linux and access to cron.....

Yah, well unfortunately as you are exposed to more people.... you have a bigger chance of running into a jerk who likes to do harm... I would start with a reverse lookup of that IP and print out the ISP info etc.... just for your records.... and log the time... if you continue to have problems with ip's in that range you can file a complaint with the ISP and they can track who had what IP at what time.   It's a pain in the rear, but... well welcome to dealing with buttheads...... hehehe...

Seriously for the most part we really enjoy our players and have a real sense of community, and the actions of one jerk really can affect more than just the persons running a site.....

I am very thankful for finding and eventually running this game as to all the new people, young and old that we have had the privilage to get to know....

Good luck in solving this problem... I fought with mine for almost 2 weeks...
Best bet update the web server ASAP.

On that note I ran LORD many years ago, and enjoyed it very much.... And was very excited when I found LOGD.... The old.... Charlies Pool Hall BBS... hehehe (about 200 users)
