just curious.  Some of my players get 0 defense when they trade their weapons.  I thought it was with the small shield from the cellar raiding, but that wasn't it, so now i am thinking it might be something with dasher's armor replacement file for the guilds.   It is not consistent though.  I personally have never been able to recreate the error.  Just seeing if anyone else had this going on.

Well ... it's just an idea but no solution ...
I'm using Talisman's weather mod on my server and there are some weather conditions that make forest fights harder. Sometimes a buff is set that brings attack of you or the opponent down to 0 for 1 turn. You're not using something similar with defense...? Shocked

I have a problem with a dracula mod that users traded out attack and defence for hitpoints.... upon dragon kill they would come back with 0 attack and/or 0 defence....

Lonny -
The Vampire mod trades off a players hitpoints for attack/defense points. What LOW ranking players dont realize is they DONT have hp to trade off.
Do the math:
start hp=10 +10for each level
AT DK - players lose the 10 for each level gained  -140
IF player trades off 30hp to vampire - they result in -0hp after DK
To solve this problem - I made the vampire mod available to only those players who are DK>6

look at any mod that subract def/attk and also those that subtract armordef and weapondmg - chances are you have one that is subtracting all points - a player should have 1 def and 1 attk as a min - with Fists/t-shirt value of 0

and yes I did a DK > 6 for the vampire as well....

yeah, robert had warned me when i first started my game about the vampire.  I do not run that on my game.

well, i tracked down 1 source of it.  recently i have seen an influx in the reports, so that is why i made the post.  If i truly did fix it (because there really is no way to tell) it was with the closet addon, there was an instance where defense was spelled defence, which is confusing from the get go because both fields exist somewhere in the sql tables.  defence in accounts and defense in armor.  I hope that is corrected to be consistent in .9.8.  The reports of it have gone down, so i believe i caught the culprit for the influx, but i still strongly believe something else is aloof.  I checked the armor.php for any misspellings like that, but i did not find any.

robert, I apologize, i misread your post.

I thought you were suggesting that people were going to a mod and it was just subtracting "all" their defense, meaning setting it to 0, whatever it was.

I see now what you meant.  When a player trades in armor at the shop, it deducts the armor from the total defense.  And if total defense is below that of the weapon, we have our 0 defense bug.  

So the solution is to find mods that deduct defense/armordef and put a check in to make sure armordef is never greater than over all defense...

When does .9.8 come out again?  Tongue
