A special event in the Forest - the player encounters the Rogue LoneStrider and can choose to fight or run. Fight uses battle.php so a real fight occurs - run punishes the player for 'running like a wimp' with random turn loss's.
The script suggests that a reward may NOT be given all the, this takes takes advantage of a small bug and the special nature of the battle. (our top players idea!) The reward comes forth about 80% of the time.

The good thing about this script is that, because it is so generic and so very basic - it can be changed in numerous ways to create virtually hundreds of combintaions by changing the story script, reward and badguy buffs. Most realms will want to tone down the badguy.

Due the generic nature of the script and being so basic I bring forth ONLY the idea for it and make no claim to it.

You know, I don't really like the idea of people being able to ACTUALLY kill my character in the game without PVP. I feel kinda wierd about it. . .   Shocked

Also, this script needs some work Robert. I'll check it out a little bit more when I'm at home and fix it up for you if you don't mind.

No harm intended, if you like I can rename him the Thieving LoneStrider to match the Lazy Dragon Inn.

How about something like this then to avoid Lonestrider getting killed?

If Lonestrider has <= 5% health left he gets exactly 5% left but gives up (of course saying something cool before he leaves).
About like the masters that will re-appear later in various other games (i.e. the FF series).

I think that sounds like a good idea, what do you think Robert?

You know I am open to all ideas, may not use them all but still open to them.
Other versions to the script is what I expect as so much can be done with something so basic - everyone now has a good base to work with. (just like LoGD) Adding and altering becomes an easy task.

Version 2.0
Name changed to Rogue Warrior
old name = Rogue Lonestrider
The reward not paying bug has been worked out.
VERY strong warrior - you may want to create other files that are toned down or not.
A good base to add/alter to work off of to add your own creativity and create numerous variations.

Rogue Warrior
