What would be the best way to "preselect" the monsters that a player can fight against?

An example, when in the forest I would like just a certain pool (type) of monsters, and when in the graveyard, just the undead, when in another area i created, a just a few of the regular monsters...

I noticed that the location field will determine if the monster is undead or not and it's being checked against the alive field of the player, but that would help me only in the alive/undead case.

Any suggestions on how to go about this?

First, you'd probably have to edit the creature editor to allow more range of "locations" than simply "in the graveyard, not, or both).
Second, when you are pulling out a monster for a battle, you'd just need to modify the query to include a "WHERE location=" 1 for forest critters, 2 for dungeon dwellers, etc. (for example).
