We've been running into a bit of an issue with people on our server claiming to be "Evil" (or Good) but not having any consequences.

Many of the modules have ways to modify your alignment (ie do x and become good, do y and become evil).  However, I think there aren't a lot of modules that check your alignment and then force a consequence on you.

I know that with sixf00t's Jail modules you can be thrown into jail if you are evil... however, I was going to propose that people try to integrate "required" actions into modules...

For instance, if you are "good", there could be forced consequences... for instance, a module where "Do to your kind soul you donate 3 turns to helping the orphans"...

It seems like being evil has consequences and it's time to balance it out.

I'll try to integrate this concept into future modules, and I just wanted to feel out the community if they felt this was a reasonable idea.

Also, if there are a lot of modules that do just this, then that's my bad for being redundant... sorry!

It's very reasonable. Smiley

I sometimes modify (lady erwin, mr. black) the reaction by the alignment (a bit... but evil ones won't get the best possible result at all).

If you have 1 way, and modify it by alignment good-evil, you have 2 way, if you make another one for neutral, you have 3.

It multiplies if you consider everything... that's why I haven't done much more.

I think more modules should be added that force consequences like that as I have only seen 2 modules that actually do something with it(Minus a couple of races). The jail mod where you get caught in the forest and the village castle by lonnyl where there are numerous rooms and in the church you can get a new title from your alignment by it being all the way good. So yeah, a few more would be nice. I could try to make some I guess, though I doubt they would be any good...

I was wandering if there are any modules which bring consequences to players with good alignment. I did some searching, but I did`t find anything. We want to install the jail module on our server, but it won`t be fair to the bad players, so we were hoping to balance it out with some other module.

Ok, this is along the lines of what this thread was made for, but I'm not sure if what I have to say should be put in a different area or not as the only thread specifically for this has been locked.

My idea though was to have alignment based dying. For instance an evil player goes to hell a good player goes to heaven and a neutral player goes to limbo. Then in heaven rather than killing to get favor for ressurection the good player would perform acts of kindness. I guess neutral players would perform acts of neutrality? It seemed like a pretty cool idea to me.

This has been done 2/3rds of the way...

If you think of the realm that Ramius rules as the "Neutral" location, then you can consider Valhalla the "Good" location.  The 3rd location, and "Evil" one, hasn't been done yet.
