I added the ability to affect alignment (Basic Alignment module) to Talisman's Frosty the Snowman module that's found in the core (frosty.php).

The amount of alignment points gained or lost is admin configurable.

You MUST be running the alignment version 1.72 or better for this to work, otherwise your game will error.

The module can be found here:

You should change the download link in the module to point to your modified version...

Hi, if this Frosty module is the one about the crying girl with melted snowman : why can't player buy girl a doll or a bear when he/she has no turns left but gold and gems at hand? I sometimes met that girl last year, but at the time I met her, I had no turns left. But I was willing to help her. I surely would give her a substitute for the melted Frosty if I have no turns left: buy her a doll or bear or the toy she always dreamed of. Just a suggestion. On hogwartslive Frosty seemed not to have influence on the alignment. But I like to help, anyway. Best, WW

There were two versions of Frosty. The original by Talisman (version 1.0) and a modified version (1.1 and 1.2) that included the alignment system. Make sure you are running Frosty 1.2.

It's been a loooong time, but i believe there were a few different alignment modules. Make sure you are using Sichae's Alignment Core located here.

I can't find out which version they are using on Hogwartslive, I'm only a player, not an admin or staff. Best, WW

They are using Chris Vondran's Alignment module on Hogwarts.  Version 1.82.

And I do not see a Frosty event being used there at all...obviously the name might be different because the theme, but I do not see any module by Talisman that would seem to correspond in terms of version numbers.

Even when themes are changed, authorship credit is still required.

They currently don't use frosty the snowman, they did last christmas time; not now; this year it seems there also won't be a christmas tree contest; I didn't find Frosty too. But I think they didn't use the most recent version last year. Are you also on Hogwartslive? If yes, you could me send a friendship request over there, same username as here. But stayin on topic over Frosty: I still regret the fact that only turns can be used for helping that crying girl, although gems and gold are available. Best, WW

I see. They mostly use Christmas and winter themed modules during winter season. But I find it difficult to see the wood through the trees on this website; if you want to find the most recent versions of certain modules, you have to check on several places: downloads section, "files submission" board on the forums, ... I find it confusing. I'm lucky I don't need to maintain a game myself. Best, WW

But you are a useful ideas person, I am glad you joined my site.  As you noticed, some of your ideas have been incorporated on my site.
There is a useful place for an ideas person in site administration.

Thanks for the friendly words, TGtarheel. But the frosty thing isn't still solved. I keep on wondering why a player can't help the crying girl when all turns are used and the player still has gold or gems at hand but no turns left. Best, WW

Because it requires a turn in order to help the girl rebuild the snowman...and if you have no turns, then you are too tired to help.  You do not get an alignment penalty for this.
