Is there a way to increase the character limit for names(display, not login) and titles?

It is set by the db basicly.  You would have to start by altering the db.  This of course would make it so you couldn't update since updating will change the db back and blow away all of the data.

hrrmm...drat.   Think it would be possible to do this using a module like how the Additionalbioinfo mod works?

no ^^ since the bioinfo is something new stored in the db. the normal bioinfo will still be in the prefs, I can't block that out.

You could create your own table for titles, module for warrior list and such.  But that could be rather involved.  And other modules probably would not be compatible.

If you modify lib/all_tables.php to amend the table definitions (and either run the upgrade process or amend the database yourself), and are careful to make this change again in each new version, it'll work. The definitions in all_tables are what control which DB changes are made during upgrades. Normal disclaimers about changing core files apply...
