A 'proper' module browsing system (perhaps with the ability to rate modules, a download counter, etc, or even track bugs on them) would be a better solution; even with more boards it's not going to be significantly easier to find 'good modules'. Some of the most interesting modules have dropped well off the first page of the board simply because nobody needs any help with them, and they'd probably still be off the first page even with seperate categories Wink

Talisman, is this kind of thing feasible with the forthcoming portal/forum update? Or would it be a case of plugging yet another thing in?

These things have been discussed at length in other threads, Torne.  Yes, it would certainly be the ideal solution, but there are many factors which affect the ability to implement the system.

The Module Review Team, once things get setup better, will be one step towards achieving something along those lines.

Perhaps, if enough skilled volunteers are interested, I'll list my specifications for what I'd like to see in such a module, and we'll see what the community can produce.

I'd be happy to liberate some suitable code from somewhere and tailor to fit. Would it be vital that it plugged into Enigma? Or would piggybacking the auth db be enough? Wink

Having it export module metadata in a machine parseable format would be extremely useful; would enable a module update mechanism that worked on any module, not just lonnyl's Wink
