mcargent asked for it and i wanted to do some PR work for the cityprefs, so viola.

allows for each city to have it's own image, requires cityprefs.

I cant seem to get this module to work. Can someone post something about it? I added all files/pics in images folder as gifs then put the whole link from database into the box. Nothing shows up but error box. Can someone please advise?

Thanks so much,

NE

Did you specify which image goes for which city?
And what's in the error box?

you're probably just typing the path incorrectly.  path is based off your root directory, so if you put the image in the root images folder and your image is called foo.gif, you should put in
Code:
images/foo.gif

or if you put the images in a folder called cityimages in the modules directory, you should put
Code:
modules/cityimages/foo.gif

keep in mind that it may be case sensitive.

Also, keep in mind that you're actually typing in a URL, not a path on your system.  So, if you can't view an image by typing its address into a browser, then it won't be shown by this module, either.

I found an old 2.5in hard drive that was in an old laptop of mine, and it happened to contain a small upgrade to this module. I've cleaned it up a little and decided to share here. The idea was to make things a little simpler for the admin who doesn't know much CSS. Two main features are
  • the limited ability to move the image around and
  • to create borders around it,
both without having to resort to writing a CSS style in the "extra tags" field.

as far as I am aware... The Isle of Wen hath no hooks in it so the module will not work with it.

The Isle of Wen stops other modules from being loaded so as not to overwhelm new players. If you want the image to show up, edit the Isle's module file and add in the unblock call for cityimages.
