Heya Vortus, instead of a cheap rip off of my Deep Forest, just ask and I'll show you the code and everything for it. I've intended on making a "public release" version of it on the boards. . . just time burns like embers upon my ashen skin.

Perhaps you can help me with some things in Legendgard and I'll have more time to focus on making it non-server specific.

This offer goes out to anyone who'd lend a hand in my realms and I shall return the bid to yours.

My skills are at your disposal.
Your forest code will be quite handy, as I intend on having a number of different villages, all accessible through trudging through the forest (and plains, and swamps, etc), but I want to expand on it, using a coordinate system, so that players will know what direction to head for various destinations.

I look foward to seeing the extended Forest. Since we already have several Castles and Village's my intention is to use it as a second area for *swamp* fights with advanced fights being the main purpose, an alternate area for *fights*.
While I do enjoy the journey of of the extended Forest within your Realm, I will be toning it down quite a bit to serve a differant purpose for our realm.

I know on my own server, once I get a running version of it going, I'm going to have other cities closer, so you can get there on the second game day at the latest (unless you get lost...then you're in trouble...I might throw some "street signs" in there on certain coordinates).
My server won't have a way to buy turns (at least not in the base city), so I don't want people stuck for days with nothing to do but move South.

I'd be interested in seeing more about this. This sounds like something that would be an extremely nice add-on for anyone.

I know very often I'd like to have other areas to expand the world, but I hate how most of my fights are secluded to the one forest area.

Okay, here it is... it isn't user friendly and it isn't pretty, but this IS my forest2.php script that we call the DEEP forest. In order to access it in legendgard, you must purchase a map and you must be at least wealthy with quest points.. .This file is obviously server specific and it's not the real public release, so don't expect it to just pop in and work like most of them do.

There are lots of other files that tie into this one, but I figure if you guys can take a look at it, you'll spark some ideas and begin to figure it out.

Post here with your thoughts.

Excellent Im gonna head down and grab some coffee, then take a gander at it =p

I checked your site, (Arune is my name on the games), very nice work. I must say the add-ons to your site really make it a fun server to spend some time on. Im actually quite envious, why would anyone wanna play my server? =p

Strider: Just downloaded it, and will scour it when I have some available free time to dedicate to it. Might not be for a bit, as its Mardi Gras here in New Orleans....people have to have their priorities straight. Wink

Khatfield: I know how you feel. I've gained inspiration from what I've seen in Legendgard, and have ideas to add to my own. I'm trying to keep it different enough so its not just copying what I see, but saying "thats a good idea...I could do something in that vein" and running that direction. I'd eventually like my own server to be as complex as Strider's, but not the same...so the gameplay is just that varied, but its unique in itself.

::sighs softly, missing New Orleans quite a bit::

Aye, I did a Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball in New Orleans a couple of years ago at the Omni Royal. Twas a pretty cool place to throw an event. Rather miss it these days.

As for the deep forest, check it out and let me know what you think. Tis not "ALL" of my tricks, but might be something to help get you guys started and see how I made it work.

Thank you for your compliments on Legendgard. Next week I intend to bring more depth of Eythgim and add two new Quests, perhaps restart the war scripts with some new improvements.

I'm glad you guys get inspiration from these roguish stories upon my realm and I hope you continue to enjoy them. The work you place here is great feedback for me and helps fuel my own progression.

It depends on which files you're looking for. There are about 20 different files I have called "Deep Forest Scripts" and they range from another village to a random gypsy encampment, events, an enemy fort as part of the war scripts, the enchanted lands (not yet finished) and dueling castles. . .

But those are all really destinations more than anything else. The heart of it is the forest2.php . All other destinations are yours to discover. If you have a specific question, I'll answer it, but this really isn't a "Plug and Play" style mod.
