No, you cannot delete this. It's abolutely necessary to have this part in the template.

no... almost all parts within those "{}"-brackets are necessary...

Why would you want to remove the "{petition}"-part? To prevent you players from asking for help?

Because we have a board and this link isn't necessary. I think it's possible and why i wouldn't have the right ?

Because this is an ingame helping tool, which has much more usability, than just answering questions... Or can you access your players' account to edit them via your board? No, I think not...

Well, If you can find out how to modify the core files to suit your needs by yourself, no one can stop you Smiley

But be aware: If you break anything, you are out there... on your own Wink

It provides useful debuging information when the player actually submits the petition.  Pretty much just takes a snapshot of the player at that time. Along with what page and have a dozen other things.

Now, maybe a module_hook could be useful so you could build a module to send all that info to your forum.

Haven't you ever used it?HuhHuh

I'm astounded you want to remove this. The forum would make everything take twice as long for you. When a player is logged in and sends a petition, you can click one link to see their account, last page, edit their stats, fix a broken name, see the log, edit donations... everything is so much faster...

Although I agree that disabling the petition feature would probably not be wise, it is possible.

No, you cannot delete the petition tag without generating an error, you should be able to go into the HTML and put comment tags around it like this:
   <!-- {petition} -->
Then, it should not show up on the pages using that template.

I haven't tried it with the petition tag, but it does work with some others I have tried.

If you look in lib/template.php you will find the list of all tags which must appear

In the header section, you must have the tags 'title','headscript', and 'script'.
There are no tags which are required to appear in the footer section.

Another set of tags, ("nav", "stats", "petition", "motd", "mail", "paypal", "source", "version", and "copyright") must appear in either the header or the footer section.

Of course, there are various tags in the nav sections which must also be there if you expect your skin to actually work Smiley, but we don't enforce those.

Any other tags however, can be treated as optional.
