I was wondering if I can cause an LoGD server to run on my system, without access to the internet, for testing purposes?

I can't seem to find a decent free PHP hosting service(I.E., a pr0nless one >.<), and I don't plan to pay for one until I've made absolutely sure everything works well.

yes. it is called a "localhost" in that situation. being installed on an internet server is in no way necessary for the game to run.

many coders have locally installed versions for testing purposes.

There you can download a packaged install for your own webserver with PHP and mysql... It's easy to configure and gives you a local testing environment... Wink

Your question was asked in a nice way, not that noobish, as you think and did not contain gramatical, structural or any other flaws... Grin

So I think it deserved an adequate answer Smiley

welcome to the community. if ye hath not already, take a look at the forum threads for realm creation and altered states.

in the menu, review the logd faqs for additional assistance.

for help with php and mysql, and programming tools, i strongly suggest the extensive list of links also found in the menu listing.

the search function works pretty decently, too, for seeking on key words.

when ye find thyself puzzled about something, if ye ask ye will generally find someone here who will be willing to point ye in the right direction.

we don't bite... too hard.

Most coders do or should have a test server.
No sense in releasing a mod that doesnt work is there?

The program recommended above is great - one suggestion though - the moment it is fully installed - CHECK the language, by default it is French - if you dont read french, it behooves you to change it a language of your choice.
