Here is a module for collectibles, written by Dorian and me. It's partly based on the Pet Editor by Eth and the Avatar script by Sichae.

Features:

- Editor to add up to 8 categories of collectibles to the game. 7 of them are for shops, the 8th is to create items that can be given out by events or quests later.

- Up to 7 shops can sell collectibles, with different shop titles, flavour texts and locations.

- Users can view their own collection (in preferences and city nav) and other people's collections in their bios.

- Each collectible has a rarity value and the game checks at each new day if the item is available in the shop or not. Of course they also have gold cost, gem cost and DK restrictions.

- Collectibles can only be bought, not be sold, traded or gifted. They don't vanish after a DK, so selling them would have spoiled the game.

- Now comes with Hall of Fame entry too.

There is a growing selection of handdrawn item graphics at the "Ressources" section of my website at www.ephralon.de in case you need some, you may use them for LoGD with credit.

Here's the download:

Here's a zip with 290 graphics from my website:

You might as well just upload it to your Dragonprime folder. Having a single module in there is not a waste. I remember when I only had one module in there... Tongue

Okay, you're right. *g*

Updated the download to version 1.1.
For some reason the script refused to dump the (empty) crare table at newday and fill it with new available items. So now it comes with one dummy value at install and should work for everyone.

While we were at it I fixed some typos and urged Dorian to write a HoF script too.
Happy item hunting!

Collectibles system was completely reworked (and has no similarity to Eth's pets anymore...) New features:

- Completely translation ready, including item names and descriptions.

- HoF correctly excludes admins now.

- Admin setting to show credits for the graphic artists at the bottom of the shops

- Completely revamped sorting system and put in fully configurable shop names, way more comfortable for admin and user than before.

Same link as in the first post.
If someone's interested in this just tell me and I also offer a big zip with item graphics (weapons, jewelry, plushies, potions, Halloween, all kind of stuff) which may be used if credit to eph is given in the shop.

I am very interested in your module Wink I'll take a look at it. Especially because you feature graphics for you stuff Smiley

(And you told me that you are sharing the translation which speeds implementing your module up a tenfold).

Yup, yup, yup, the German translation is almost done, we're working high-speed on feeding you a bunch of stuff next week. Wink (Also for stuff which I haven't published here yet.)
Have to find a way to filter the collectibles themselves from the dump, as their descriptions are very specific to my server theme and people are better off with their own items.
But editor/shop translations and graphics - no problem!

Argh, found a small translation bug with the shop titles. I'll fix it later. (Birthday party of my hubbie going on.)

The collectible system is intended to be used with item graphics. (What fun is it to collect a line of text?)

I really like this idea, could you tell me where to find the download for the Item Graphics? nothing turned up in the Search......thanks

She links to her site in the post.  After looking through it a little, I found: http://www.ephralon.de/freebies_sub1.php?cat=graphics&  I suppose those are some of the images she meant.

Some, indeed. I'm currently uploading the next batch, but for easy reference I uploaded a zip with 290 pics. (link in first post)
That's all I currently have, but I'm always working on more.

Hm, seems like I hit an upload limit and the file got only partially uploaded. Gomen ne!

I put it up on my webspace. Link is in first post. Don't mind the funny name, had to circumvent my hotlinking protection.  Grin

EDIT:
There was a stupid translation bug in the collection view. If you want to translate please download again.

It came to my attention that it wasn't possible to use less than all shops, so I added settings to close all unwanted shops in the grotto and added an output for the collection view if a player has no collectibles. (A blank page was a tad bit disturbing.)

I get this error when I try to delete a collectable:

SELECT * FROM collect WHERE collectcat= ORDER BY collectcat, collectdk DESC
You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ORDER BY collectcat, collectdk DESC' at line 1
Call Stack:

Ok, this seems like an interesting module. (Think unlimited tattoos...  Grin)
I've downloaded it and saw the error.

Its actually a simple error. The creator did not check for empty values for gold, gems and DK.
Hence, for it to work properly and add collectables, you need to type in a number for all those fields.
i.e even if the item requires ZERO gems, you need to put a '0' in the box.

I'll test it out further before I put it up on my server as well... Tongue

Edit: Seems like the bug for deletion is different from adding. Its is due to a missing httpget for the category after deletion.
I've edited on my side. Does anyone know if this is still being maintained?
