on my .9.7 server, when someone deletes a mail, it actually just removes it from their view (sets an added db field, markdelete, to 1) and just goes away with the normal expiration.  I did this to assist in the letter opener idea, so players can't just read YOMs and delete them right off.  I am not seeing any way to do this without core/db alterations though.  Can anyone else see a way of copying the message on the fly to a different table?  if there really is no way, Kendaer, and chance in giving that ability to create things like this?  might make room for more mail related modules.

No, it's not possible.  No, I have no plans on doing something like this.

I do not agree with the basis for wanting to do it (leaving mail around that admin can then read) so I will expend no effort to make it workable.
