Resolution: Damn, I need to stop trying to understand this stuff at one in the morning. I solved the problem with a fix I found in
this thread (thanks Kendaer). I was originally thrown off by a mention in that thread that drop-down boxes were not affected by this bug when clearly mine were, but the fix worked. Hooray!

Well here it is, the first of what will probably be a great many threads where I cry for help.
My installation of 1.0.2 went largely without a hitch, and for the past hour or so I've been looking through all the administration options and figuring a few things out.
All has been good except for some reason it won't let me change the time offset. I've done a search of the forum but it didn't turn anything up.
Basically the time offset is sitting on some default value that was there when I first went to change it. It's set up so that the new day will be in roughly three and a half hours, which for me is 3:30am, but I want to change it so the next new game day starts at 6am (and then every six hours after that), as that's what I've had my 0.9.7 server set up to do and I don't want to unnecessarily confuse my players.
Anyway, I select a different time offset in the box and click save, it reloads the screen and says settings saved... But when I check it again, the time offset is back to whatever it was initially and my changes have gone ignored.
I've done a few other minor things like added some monsters and renamed some weapons and everything else has seemed to work fine. I also haven't installed any mods or made any changes to the code after install.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on the situation.
Edit: Okay, I've since discovered that other changes to the game settings, such as the one to allow DK titles to be changed in user editor (as an example) aren't saving my changes either. It's the same issue... The page reloads and says it has saved them, but when I check they are still showing defaults.
Edit II: Just verified that the changes i made to weapons and monsters worked fine, so it only seems to be the game settings options that are affected.
