My server has bee running extreamly slow and I was wondering how I enable the data caching feature in v1.0.2?

You need to do two things.
1) create a directory where the cache files will be stored.  This directory needs to be writeable by the web server since that is what the PHP script is running as.
2) go into the game settings and put the values in.

I must say that the data caching feature is fantastic..

Our hosting acct was nearly terminated due to excessive CPU usage on the host's servers...

The data caching has saved us from a very sticky end..

I am thinking that it is an issue with a third party module or a file/directory permission issue...

Your best bet is to try deactivating any third-party (non-core) modules - taking note of which one (if any) causes the particular error...

Otherwise - just check file permissions

Yeah, if fopen() is giving that error, it means it can't read or create a file by a specified name.

The errors cames, when i had deaktiviate all non-core Modules too.....

File permissions, I think that i have all...
Its localhost and i think, that's the Problem...

even localhost you need to make sure that you can write to the directory.  This is a directory write permissions error.

Try and chmod it to 606, or 777 if that fails. You can use some FTP programs for this, like Core FTP Lite. Not sure about the mail() function error messages, but we had them a while back.

You did not follow my instructions.

FIRST; find a directory on your hard drive where you want to store to the cache files.
(the default in the code is /tmp which is a UNIX directory).

Given the error message you got first

You are on a windows machine.

Therefore, /tmp is the wrong location and you didn't follow my instructions to change it.
