I suppose as usually I just missed something, but where are those avatars shipped with 1.0.2 supposed to be shown ingame?
Can't find any settings in the grotto for them, and I can't see them anywhere, neither in user's profiles nor when someone creates a new standard race character (or is that because of newbie island, does it supress the pics during character creation?).

Do I have to install some "third party" avatar module to make them show up?

Honestly, I have many races installed, and the prospect to adjust them to show pics as well and add more of my artwork to the game is what made me upgrade.
So any help on this is appreciated, I searched this forum high and low and couldn't find an answer so far.

I never installed any of the avatar mods available in the shared folders because they all seem to be about users uploading their own avatars. Most often that means you will end up with loads of copyright violations, because it is simply illegal to take a picture and use it as avatar without asking the artist for permission, and as I learned on numerous forums I was admin at, most people don't give a damn about copyrights.

That is exactly why I was thrilled about the announcement that version 1.0 and higher come with avatars. I was hoping to define a custom (handdrawn) picture for the races and be done with it.
But like I said, the pics came with the core download, but I can't find any setting to make them show up.

The avatars which come with 1.0.0 are a lodge purchase.

When people purchase them, they will show up in that players bio.

That is the extent of it.

and they are ONLY for working with avatar.php which correctly displays their copyright information.  Those avatars are ONLY released for use with logd installations and ONLY when correctly attributed.

So they *cannot* be used with any other third party avatar module.

In order to use them you must install avatar.php (which comes with the code) and configure it.

Like I said, I want to use the module with my own handdrawn graphics.

Now I went through all the files in the 1.0.2 download twice and also checked the 1.0.1 download (1.0.0 I missed), but I can't find any file with the name avatar.php. Only the folder and the gifs, but no module file.
Sad Am I blind or do I keep getting bad downloads?

Nope, the avatar.php was NOT released. If it was, then I never saw it in any of the releases... and it has been evading my grasp.

Checking now.. it was *meant* to be released.

It can now be found in my shared files. it was meant to be in the releases.

In fact, I have included the most recent version which contains the multiple sets of avatars as currently exists on logd.dragoncat.net and on lotgd.net

Please REMOVE the modules/avatar directory before unpacking the new version to prevent any confusion.
