New Feature - easy to add to next release

Several players have asked when they joined the game - an admins best answer is currently: "just after ID number XXXXX and before ID number XXXXX"  -- not a good answer at all.

I see an easy solution is to record 'create account date' into the players info - perhaps shown in Bio? as: Warrior Since: d/m/y

I agree this is a trivial matter but enough players have expressed an interest in knowing this information, which at the present time - we cannot provide and the solution is an easy one to add.

Can we persude Eric and Kendear to add this small item in a future release?
OR perhaps some author is inspired to write a mod?

Easiest way would be to have a field in the accounts table, but I doubt that is going to happen.

Another way would be to create a table called acct_signup or something like that and record player signups there using a module.

Last idea would be write a module that sets a userpref during account creation and saves the date for each signup.  My thought on this though is that currently I have about 3000+ entries of userprefs in the database already for modules that are currently running.  Everytime a module runs mySQL has to sift through all that data.

Just some thoughts, but I really like the idea.

The really bad idea about this all, is how are you ever going to calculate the people that have already signed up? Guesstimate? Smiley Gotta think these things through. Tongue

If you didn't understand anything in the above post, don't try to attempt anything suggested.

Yea that is on my dev server, my live server has over 700 players, so I don't even want to know what the userprefs are for that...

The real problem with this is like Sichae said, there is no reference point to start from so all your existing users are just outta luck.

Not concerned with existing players, all new players would have the data recorded. Existing players will be SOL as this feature would not help them, as time time goes on, they will fade away and all future players will benifit.
