Summary

Allows characters to buy turns in a tavern, which you can name. The tavern location is configurable via the Grotto. Turns can be bought in the form of tankards. Small tankards give one turn, medium tankards give three turns, and large tankards give 5 turns.

Costs per level can be set in the Grotto.

You can specify the maximum amount of turns that can be gained in any given day via the Grotto.

Players are told how many turns they have bought and how many turns they can buy in any given day when they visit the tavern.

2. Log in to LotGD with your admin account
3. Enter the Superuser Grotto
4. Click Manage Modules
5. Install turntavern.php (Turn Tavern)
6. Configure settings and save
7. Activate

Turn Tavern

Version 2.0

Download: http://rpdragon.com/lotgd/turntavern.zip
Mirror: http://rpgsl.com/lotgd/turntavern.zip

New Grotto Options

1) Does amount of turns the character bought reset each new day (ressurrections included) or only when the server generates a new game day?
2) Amount of turns gained with each tankard size
3) Can extra turns be gained?
4) Chance per turn bought that extra turns will be gained (cumulative)
5) Turns gained multiplier
6) Are hit points lost when extra turns are gained?
7) Percent of max hit points subtracted from current hit points.
8) Can the character die from buying turns? (if no, then the character is dropped to one hit point if the amount lost would kill them)
9) Does the Turn Tavern randomly move?
10) If tavern moves, does it move each server generated day or does each character have a different location each new day no matter what?

Quick Update to 2.01

Output stating how much HP character loses was before the "candie" check, so it would display the wrong amount of HP lost if characters cannot die from gaining extra turns.

Two minor typos fixed.

Debuglog added noting how many HP were lost if enabled.

I located the errors. Open modules/turntavern.php and edit it as follows:

Locate:
Code:
elseif (get_module_setting("move") && get_module_setting("runonce"))

Replace with:
Code:
if (get_module_setting("move") && get_module_setting("move_runonce"))

Locate:
Code:
elseif (get_module_setting("move") && !get_module_setting("runonce"))

Replace with:
Code:
if (get_module_setting("move") && !get_module_setting("move_runonce"))

Thanks.  I can give that a try.  what it does, for now is...it WILL move randomly on each new system day...but it will NOT move to different places for different characters, on different days, even resurrections.  That's what it does not do.

I'm not sure that matters much, I just wanted it moving around, so as to encourage my players to explore other towns.  And, since it now does that, there isn't much reason, really to edit the file...but I might give that a try when I've got nothing else going on.  Just to see if it actually works.

P.S.  Incidentally, I am thinking about making a module that would be an add-on to the Casino - which, I note, you have already done some of that.  If you might be interested in working on a mod together, please let me know via message.  My coding skills are somewhat...no, in fact...quite limited...but I think the only way I am ever going to learn, really, is to jump in with both feet, and noodle around, and learn, but I would not mind a helping hand when I try this for my first time...so, please, if you would be interested in helping me out, and giving me a chance to expand my skills, and the game...let me know at your convenience.

Well that's weird because the downloaded file I used would randomly move the tavern every newday for each user. What wasn't working was if you had it set to move and only on each new server generated day.

When I enabled move and set it to not move only on server generated days, but to move on every single newday granted, the shop randomly moved for each user. The settings are a little tricky, but there are notes in the Grotto.

This module could use some streamlining. There are a few extra queries in it that could be weeded out. Since it's small, it shouldn't take too long to clean up a bit.

About the module coding: Shoot me a PM and tell me about it a little. Do you have any of it done yet? I can't promise countless hours, but I can certainly give you a hand where and when needed. If you have no clue about PHP coding, please do a little research on the fundamentals and then get in touch with me. I don't mind helping out, but I haven't the time to do a fully fledged tutorial.
