Hi I was looking for the gem trade, so players can trade gems like stocks on wallstreet. more gems = lower price for gems.
I have found something like it but the link is boken or it did not work.

If some one can point me in the right way, I would love it!

Also I am interrested to see other LOTGD sites and how they run.
so send some links please.

Thanks

Any kind of gem trading tends to throw your game way off balance, so you might want to rethink including that.  However, if you really want one, check a the assorted user folders...there might be one in Strider's.

For viewing other sites, check the user info of participants here (many have links to their servers) or check the server listing at lotgd.net.

first of all ye do not state which version ye are running. is it .9.7 or .9.8? that will make a difference.

secondly, there is a list of registered logd sites located on the login page of the central server.

As far as I know, for 0.9.8 there are two Gem trading modules.
My 'vessaclan' which is based upon reznarth's 'vessa'.

Personally, I would look at the Forum I am posting in first, as it is proper Forum Ettiquette. As well, seeing as how this person has already posted under many 0.9.7. topics, then I would more than likely, think he is using 0.9.7.

I use 0.9.7

I know the gems are tuff stuff for the game, but I dont want them to buy gems from the game. They can only buy gems wich are already in the game.
So if some one finds a gem he can sell them to other players. If a lot of gems are for sale and no one wants them the price drops and if ther are no gems than the price goes up a little. So players can controll the gem market.
If you sell your gem you sell it to the gem bank wich holds on to the gem and gives you the value for the gem. If some one wants a gem you buy them from the bank if there are some gems in the bank.

i hope you can understand what I try to say.

thanks

There are 3 Gem Stores for 097 that I have come across - the one Talisman referred to is the best one PROVIDING that the prices are set correctly, the default prices are not well balanced.

Look for the Strider/Anpera Gemstore which is in Strider file share folder - you will need to edit some files and your db in order to make the mod work.
I suggest changing the buy prices to: 3400, 6700, 9900
and the Sell prices to: 800, 600
and also install a cap on how may gems are available - 1 line of code, see me if interested.

I run 3 active 097 sites - drop by sometime, say hello

just because someone has posted in a particular forum it is not necessarily guaranteed that it is in the right forum or thread for that matter.

as for gemshops, as talisman stated, they are extremely unbalancing.

i am intimately familiar with the one in strider's folder.  it is solely a player supported economy with gems available only if sold by other players. however, i caution you that even in such a scenario, it becomes extremely unbalanced and ye will hath players who become vultures hovering in the gemhold waiting for gems to be sold. they snatch every single one sold, leaving none for other players.

another pitfall, it is conceivable a player with a fair number of gems will be able to sell gems immediately upon dk thereby being able to afford max armour and weapon.

therefore, i would recommend, in addition to a cap on gems available, a cap on the number of gems that may be sold.
