Vessa Clan:
  • Based upon 'vessa' by Reznarth, with code cleaned up
  • Navs fixed
  • Money can be paid into and out of a clan's vault
  • It uses the 'range' function in showform, and users are told the maximum amount of gems they can buy and sell
  • The max-level/min-level function still works
  • The Geminventory is stored seperately for each clan, so there are less there to buy (default of 100)
  • There is a commentary to talk in
  • Descriptions are better, and vessa informs you more
  • There are two new navs, one for more information from vessa, another for talking (going to the commentary)
  • This starts off at v9.0, as the version of vessa this was based upon was 8.0.

Does the clan vault need to be installed with this?

i suggest reading code to determine if modules are / are not required.  Wink

hmmm... skimming the code it would seem to indicate "no", the clan vault module is not required based on this:

Code:
if (is_module_active('clanvault')&&get_module_setting('clango')==1) output("`^Vessa `3tells you, \"`&All money will go to your Clan.`3\"`n");

i will update the description in the downloads area to make it more apparent.

I looked at the code and the reason I asked was because of this:

is_module_active('clanvault')

which I figured it was looking for the clan vault but I wasn't 100 percent sure. Sorry if I misunderstood what it was supposed to mean.

there is also a setting to disallow placing money into the clan vault, which again would indicate that the clan vault is not required.

i do think that the file should be better documented with what is required.

granted, in the require_once statements, clan vault is not listed.  does that make sense?

Yes, that function checks whether a module is active. Generally, it's used to give optional functionality to a module - if another module is actually required, it should be in the "requires" key in the _getmoduleinfo function.

Ok, you got me. I didn't mean "required" much as I meant needing it for all the options to work right. Does that make any sense? Now I'm confused! Wink

Hi, what has been happening is clans are running out of gems and they only get to buy the defualt 50 gems a day. It is getting annoying that people are sending petitions that are asking for more gems in thier clan's gem exchange. So from what I see there are two fixes fix A, could set it to give clans X ammount every X ammount of gamedays.
Fix B, you could set an unlimited ammount of gems for her vualt * kinda not real after all Bill Gates only has a limited ammount of money so why should Vessa have unlimited gems*.

Why do you allow them to buy gems anyway?
why not give them out for free, would be much better?

I mean, c'mon, everything should be free. =) dragonkills. donationpoints, heck everything! food, water, electricity, why do you have to work for anything!
