hi all, i've recieved a message from our webhost saying there were a couple of problems with the church module and the marquee module, this is message he sent me:

Quote
Just a server admin note, I fixed the marquee module and the Old Church module so they work again. I would sugest to whoever writes the code that they use a $PRFX for the php code with the mysql tables similar to the way phpbb does it as an example

i don't know if this helps, but hope it does as lotgd lotgd is running smoothly for us!

There is no church module as part of the core (other than the old church area for esoterra an that doesn't use SQL).

The version of the marquee in the core (and I believe in the most recent pre-release of 0.9.Cool correctly uses database prefixes.

Therefore, you need to contact the author of the church module and get them to fix it.
And if you are using an older version of the marquee or core, you should upgrade.  If you believe you have the most recent version then you should recheck that.

Possibly he's referring to both the marriage module and holiday marquee modules which are both spewing errors on my server. I've currently got them disabled while I look for the problems - I'll check this solution out.

The marquee modules (Holiday Marquee) is the one I said was correct (as far as I could tell) in the core.

Of course, if it's spewing errors, SHOWING me the error is always helpful!

The marraige module is NOT PART OF THE CORE AND YOU MUST REPORT THE ERRORS TO THE AUTHOR.   Not trying to yell, but just telling the world at large isn't the best way to get that sort of thing fixed.

The marraige module is NOT PART OF THE CORE AND YOU MUST REPORT THE ERRORS TO THE AUTHOR.

That means find the marriage thread under "Completed Mods" and post the problems you're having there.  Amongst other things, it maintains continuity of ongoing mod development.
