I started a LotGD game back in mid September 2004, but I lost focus around early February.  There are constantly about 25 players on there - a small game.

Anyway, I'm looking for a person or a group of people to take over the game administration/ownership.  Once someone or some people wants the project, I'll move the game to a FreePGS server and give the hosting space AND the game files to the new admins.

The only conditions I have are the following:

1. Any reference to Ironthorne Keep should be changed immediately
2. Any reference to the copyrighted stories be removed or changed immediately
3. Any mods that were customized for the game must retain their copyright notice, but can be modified for the new game any way they like
4. Please allow the existing mods and admin (aside from myself) to retain moderator status (not required, just requesting)

Thank you!

I hope this is the right area for posting this thread.

Well, the best person to preserve your game is a player on your own server.  However, I'm sure someone here might volunteer to help you out.

I'd be interested except I'm already running the game and three other websites.  I'd be happy to take on 25 new players, but running another site is another thing.

So, the best thing again is for an existing player to become an admin, or have the players do a mass-migrate to another game.

:laughs so hard that her stomach muscles hurt when she is finally able to stop

oh gods, that is too funny!

as for thy game pffft, aye, seek among your player base for someone interested in taking over the site.  otherwise, enderwiggin suggests the same as i do... many of us are time constrained running our own sites and migrating thy players to another server may also be an option.

granted, i suspect most (not all) of the sites here are currently running 0.9.8 as opposed to 0.9.7.

i wish ye luck in finding a solution, especially if the players ye have are a good core group who enjoys playing together.

the server i set up recently and co-admin with (hmmmm... not sure if he wants that known,) was due to a similar situation where the game admin decided to step away from his site suddenly for reasons of life intervening.  we set up our own version, new story with some references here and there to the other realm being overrun by invading forces, then brought over the players. there was a good core of roleplayers we didn't want to see disperse to the winds and managed to locate to invite to play our site.

i wish ye luck in finding a suitable solution!

If Pfft is not aware, perhaps he should be made aware of that inside joke, which is a bit of a serious manner.

There is a player who goes by Brendan often, but is known to go by a variety of aliases.  He normally registers via a new hotmail email account.  He is a known hacker, who has ruined a number of LotGD games.  He likes to lie, gain admin access to games, and ruin them.

If he doesn't have admin access, then he will just spam people incessently with Ye Olde Mail messages and petitions.

Thanx everyone, I have Robert who already runs his own 097 game interested, so I'm going to give the admin position to him.
