Well, here it is, my first module.................. ........

First off let me thank Sichae and Talisman for their kind assistance.  The module is based on a Tim Hortons coffee shop, which my players have been asking me for.

In it's current incarnation, both price and rewards are hardcoded into the script. I plan to change future versions to allow all of these things to be admin settings, however at the moment, if you want to change the price and reward settings, then you must do it in the code, instructions are provided in the readme text file for which lines need to be changed.

I bring this up because the module was written for my own server which I imagine many would find unbalanced.  The rewards are fairly high. Many users will want to change this I would imagine.

For those of you familiar with the Tim Hortons chain, the option exists in the module to lock the shop into one city, or have it placed in all cities (like any good coffee shop, one on every corner). Also, for those of you who are familiar with Tim Hortons, the module includes the ever popular Tim Hortons Roll Up The Rim To Win contest.

You can find the module here:

Shouldn't it install multiple links in each city?  Tongue

For comic effect, I actually almost coded it having it set up one on every street in each city.......

Small update....as Sichae has kindly noted, I have an error in the random array which neglected a result.  I have repaired that as well as fixed a small typo......

Same download link.

My players got quite the chuckle out of this module and also made a few comments on why it wasn't available under every section. Nicely done!

Thank you!  The module came from a comment made by one of my players as we were standing in line at a Tim Hortons, and kind of kept rolling from there......

your vertxtloc needs to have a trailing slash after it.

and i guess, even then, your url for version.txt is wrong.

you also need to check if they have the money to buy the items.

Problem.
Once you discover the good thing to buy, it is always the same.

And if you set for only one visit a day, the Roll Up The rim To win does not work.

If you set it for 2 times...then, on the second time, the Roll Up The rim To Win doesn't work.

There should be some risk as well as reward in the module, and it needs to be fixed in terms of the roll up the rim to win thing...so that an Admin can set to one visit per day, and the rim thing still works.

Module has potential, but it needs work!

Just in case anyone else is having trouble where clicking on 1/2 Dozen Doughnuts results in a badnav.php error, I found the following error on line 181:

Code:
}elseif ($op=="haldoz"){

should be:

Code:
}elseif ($op=="hafdoz"){

Just trying to give back, since everyone here has been so nice.

BTW - I have never heard of Tim Hortons, so I edited the script and changed the name to Starbucks.

tim horton's is the uber-coffee shop chain in canada. having spent time in numerous ones whilst travelling through canada, i have to say i prefer their offerings over starbucks.

anyway, the module was written by a canuck so he opted for what is familiar and yummy to him.  Wink

Complete agreement with the Timmys>Starbucks sentiment.
I think the major difference is the fact that Tim Horton's usually has bigger stores, and is rarely part of a mall. Besides Starbucks is like 285764985732 times the price per cup of coffee **EXAGERATION- not by much**

AS to this module!
I love it! I haven't gotten any strange error messages yet, and I'll be putting it on both my public test servers. Cause they are just... uh... as you phrased it, "Unbalanced".
-I like things to be fun, with lots of bells and whistles. lolz. Tongue

As suggested by Elessa, I have made the name of the Coffee Shop selectable - you can choose between Tim Hortons or Starbucks. I also made the waitress' name configurable. Both of these are done through the Module Settings screen.

There were a couple of other errors that I fixed:

First, there was a typo in the Half Dozen Glazed cost variable that resulted in a badnav.php error - on my server at least. Second, the cost of the Extra Large Double Double wasn't being deducted from your gold on hand. Finally, if you had less gold on hand than the minimum required to make a purchase, you were unable to play the Roll Up the Rim contest.

If there are any other errors that I have missed, or if anything doesn't work as expected, please let me know!

BTW - Elessa... it wasn't too bad making the changes Admin Settings!  Cheesy Thanks...
