It's not safe to go into the villages anymore...*cues theme from Jaws*

Converted from my .97 version, this little module allows you to have players get accosted by a bandit in town. They can bribe them, try to run away, or fight. Admins can select percentage of gold player has to bribe to get away, and the location where the bandits/muggers will pop up.

Also, if anyone is interested, I still have the .97 version laying around. Ask and I'll upload it to my shared folder.

Edit:  Forgot to note this is a village special event.
Edit:  Quick fix so users can only bribe when they have gold to do so Shocked
Edit:  Fixed one more bug.  Now the bribes really do work.
Edit: Works with Lonny's Alternative Currency Module now!

Comments/Suggestions/Whiskey always welcome.

* Lightbringer grabs the module and hunts around for a bottle of Old Grandad

Sounds great..will take a look...

Just when players thought it was safe to stay in the villages...

*chuckles* I'm going to have that theme in my mind all night now.

Oh how some of my players loathed me after I first wrote this for .97. They couldn't just hang  around and chat anymore in safety. I was such a bastard. Grin

Just one quick fix - noticed I had accidently placed the check for gold on hand in front of the wrong link  Shocked

Another good reason one should not code during the wee hours of the morning...

Update! Version 1.1 now available. Mostly just a few minor bug fixes, admin-configurable chance added, and village nav links placed after victory/defeat screen so the player is now less confused.

Enjoy!

Another day, another update.

For fun, I updated this to work with Lonny's Alternative Currency module. Now upon winning against a mugger, you can find either a random alternative currency or the normal reward. Admins can choose. Also, losing a battle risks the chance of losing some of said currency as well.

Enjoy.

I just installed this.....  I think an additional setting one city/all cities would be nice.... I would prefer that these guys didn't make a single city less attractive than the others.

Don't look now, but it's another update. Version 1.3, featuring a correct version number listed in the file! *chuckles*

And just since I'm such a nice guy, you can now choose to have bandits pop up in all the towns, or just one.
