Alignment Events:
  • This contains 2 (so far) alignment events
  • I'm going to be adding more to this file all the time
  • Supporrs Lonnyl's updates thing
  • More alignment events are easy to add
Basically, apart from some of Lonnyl's/Sichae's stuff, there weren't many events *just* for alignment. Sichae's temple adds a few, but that's more about the temple.
This is *just* for alignment, easy to add to, using arrays (I'm going to allow them to be added in the Grotto- this is a temporary measure)
I'm currently doing a special where neutral users get a 'Pulsating Orb', evil users get a 'Black Statue', and good users get a 'White Pyramid.'
This is going to have rewards that differ from those in the temple.

Sounds like a great idea..... I think we should have more events that affect alignment (forest and village) specifically....  Will have to look into making some events to all to the alignment module.

* CortalUX nods
I've tried to make it relatively easy to add to, until I've got some way to add to a table.
You can add events like so:
Code:
$x['2']['desc']="`^You stumble upon a frothing, raging, running river, and see a stranded fishing boat sinking slowly, yet held up slightly by a pile of rocks!`nThe boat is full of a worried looking crew, and they seem to notice you!`n`3 \"`&Help! Help!`3\"`^ they yell.";
$x['2']['help']="`^You paddle across the raging river, with a rope- one end tied around you, the other upon the shore. When you land on the boat, you tie your rope to it, and help the crew pull the boat to sure, by using their weight to stay in the boat, and pull the boat over.";
$x['2']['hinder']="`^You find it funny, and decide to sink the boat yourself!`nFinding a convenient rock, you lob it over the river, hitting one of the rocks beneath the boat, lowering it imperceptibly.";
$x['2']['ignore']="`@You ignore the yelling and walk off.";

You can also have custom navigations...
Code:
$x[2]['hnav']="Help them";
$x[2]['enav']="Hinder them";
$x[2]['inav']="Ignore them";

look at my faqaddon module for an idea on how to make this into a table all in its own.  Then it becomes really customizable.

Or I could look at it and convert what you currently have to something like that.

This is a great idea.  I was just thinking I wanted to add some more alignment events!

I think my user may have spotted some bugs with it.  There are two events in the module at the moment.  One's the one with the spider web, and the other's the one with the raging river.  I've done some test with it, and it seems like the results of the two events get mixed up.

It also seems like "You feel GOOD!" and "You feel EVIL!" don't always lead to an effect in alignment.  Sometimes the alignment value gets changed, and sometimes it doesn't.  Is this intentional?

Thanks for reading.  Smiley

Just so you know, the module never sets the aligntried pref to true, so the check to see if players have already encountered the event on the current day will never work.

I love the update on the contents. Kudos to Selenity and you  Smiley

V3.11

Thanks Iori... I got so excited about cleaning the code I just deleted that without noticing.  3.11 adds it back in.
