I know I'm not a moderator, but I'm pretty sure that http://dragonprime.net/index.php?topic=12170.0 is still in effect. We are here to be supportive of others. Not to goad others into fights. Not to try and stir the pot with others. We are here to support each other, and help each other.

Now. To the unicorn shooting chainsaws. What in the name of everything is that all about? Where did that even come from!? Someone needs to make a realm where that is the "dragon" you have to kill. DOCTOR, YOU SHOULD BUILD IT!

Ah yes. Hiding code into a module. That's been seen way too many times.

Anyways. The information that was posted on here about having someone code for you? Follow it. Don't just let anyone code for you. Also, if you get contacted by someone who wants to do it for you, do some research. Find out if they own any realms themselves, or if they code for anyone. There are quite a few coders out there, but not all of them are to be trusted. That's why I only work with a select few.

The other thing? Whenever someone gives you a module that you ask them to build, do what is suggested. Read over it. Repeatedly. Look for anything that may look suspicious. I've seen things put into obscure modules that nobody would bother to look at. Such as a race module, or a bank module. It seems like a strange place for things to be hidden in, but it has happened before. If you are unsure of if something looks right or not, I'm sure there are some people here that would be more than happy to just look it over for you, and give you pointers on a few things.

That's the end of my two cents.

That's a bit off of the topic, Brendan. This is about Gold and Gem Translation issues, not the remarks of other posters. Please stay on topic, if you will. Smiley

So I modified this with two more lines to block the translations from popping up in list.php and home.php in case you have characters that join your realm(s) with Gem/Gems/Gold in their names. I figured it'd be a good idea to do this since it decided to translate a character on my realm from "Gold" to "Food Items" with this module, and that caused a few chuckles and some confusion.

Perhaps having more than 24 game days in one Real Life day was what someone wanted. Perhaps people wanted to have more fights or something. Perhaps it is tied into the RP on the site or something. Who knows. However, this is indeed a good idea. It is something small, but it works wonders Those are my 2 cents as well.

I've checked all of the skins, and they are working just fine. I'm not able to get this error to pop up for me anywhere. I've even created a character to see if I could create the error(s) on the site, and there's no errors appearing.

25  Coding Support / Coding Support Desk / Re: Donation Bar Edit on: October 13, 2014, 09:43:16 PM
See, I would never really do this. (Just throwing my 2 cents in). Some players like to see that bar before they join a realm to see A) How much the place costs and B) How much the place makes. It's one of the first 5 things most players look at.

1) Staff List
2) MotDs
3) Template structure (checking for organizationaal skills)
4) Donation goals
5) Total players on a realm.

I know this is slightly off-topic, but blocking a majority of those things might cause people to not join a realm. To each their own, I 'spose.

Hmm. I like the idea. It sucks you cannot get the slider to work. I wanna see if I can get it to work on WDO. If I can, you can have a look-see on how to do it, good Doctor. Smiley

This may sound like a silly answer, but have you turned on your Translator Tool (the option that gives you the ability to use this item to translate just about everything within the game)? It is a flag you give yourself using User Editor. It is not a module, but a part of the core.

Hopefully, this is in your native tongue, so it will help a bit, if you don't understand what I typed:

Isto pode soar como uma resposta boba, mas voc j ligou o Tool Tradutor (a opo que lhe d a capacidade de usar este item para traduzir quase tudo dentro do jogo)? uma bandeira que voc d a si mesmo usando o Editor do Usurio. Ele no um mdulo, mas uma parte do ncleo.

and make it so that any gold saved in the bank is lost after a DK, so they can't use the bank in that manner either.

Isn't that what the game normally does? Tongue It's a module that keeps gold after a DK.

Yes, it is. Tongue However, some people do miss the clan rewards module, and install it, and then forget they installed it. Sorry. I'll refrain from offering advice in the future, Good Doctor. Tongue

A couple of things about this. If you are worried about people having a huge advantage after a DK, you've got a few things to keep an eye on. If you have clans that give rewards after DKs, the players have a way to go and buy what they want, depending on what is given as rewards. You could also disable gold deposits in the coffers, and make it so that any gold saved in the bank is lost after a DK, so they can't use the bank in that manner either. Or you could combine your idea with blocking the bank from saving gold after a DK, and then making sure that you somehow put a cap on what clans give out as rewards for making a DK. Just throwing my two cents in.

Simply put, it is difficult to work with someone like this without having any clue who is as eager as you are to do this. Also, there are many people in this community who have a hard time working with others. There are many bumps in this road that you want to journey down. I wish you luck with it.
