Title: Translation questions
Post by: anpera on August 24, 2004, 04:03:30 AM
The news line

Quote
Page Araphnoids has defeated his master, Yoresh to advance to level 15 on his 2nd day!!

in translatortool is:

Quote
`%%%s`3 has defeated his master, `%%%s`3 to advance to level `^%s`3 on his `^%s`3 day!!

For a female character it would be "her master" and "her`^%s`3 day". So there would be two translations needed for one sentence. If that's the way it works it's okay for me. Just want to know. 8)

Yes.  We specifically excluded the pronouns and gender stuff from being %s'd in.

The reason being here is that (unfortunately) some languages handle other words differently based on the gender of the subject.

So yes, anything which has his/her etc will have multiple translations, one for ladies and one for guys.
