As with all software - the best place to start before doing anything is to read the README.txt file - it pretty much tells you what to do.

- upload the files
- create a db and db user
- install the game
- log in the game and begin set up of the game

If you are a noob - I suggest not downloading any 3rd party modules till at least you are 90% comfortable with how the game works and how to run the game - that alone would take you at least a few weeks. The game has plenty of modules included in the default game to keep you busy for some time to come. When you are familiar wth how everything works, then maybe 3rd party modules you may want to look at to enhance your game.

ahh, you need to open the file you downloaded. If you use a mac, then just double clicking it should work. If you're using windows, you need some like wintar to open it.

It'll be free for you. It has to be free for the people playing, but you can set up paypal so that the people that play on your server can give you money.

Forgive me everyone... but it's blatantly obvious the thread starter does not have the necessary expertise to run a server. Please, while it was a little bit amusing for people to all give one-sentence answers, the real problem was never addressed. Siteman21, you cannot run a server until you know what SQL database, PHP, FTP and file permissions are. We will not hold your hand because hosting a LoGD game is simply way beyond your present skill level. This is not a beginners' game for hosts.

This subject is none of my buisness but Saucywench you never give anyone a chance There was one point where you didnt know what sql and file manager and ftp was so you had to learn what it is and thats what Siteman21 is trying to do.

Siteman21 if you are stuck at anything just pm me.

Regardless of who he is, not more than a day ago, he was pm'ing me as couldn't upload a module correctly, and had no idea what a ftp was, nor how to use it.

1.  This thread was 4 months old, without comments until today.  It should have stayed that way.

2.  Brendan - you are in no position to be criticizing others, particularly not in this forum.  If you wish to remain here, you best keep a damned low profile and not pull any of your hacking bs.

3.  Flamewars will not be tolerated in DragonPrime.  This topic is locked.  Any attempt to move it to another topic will NOT be well received.
