hmm.  Looks like the bioinfo is showing up in all players instead of just one.

For example.  I have it in my bio and it shows up in everyone elses.

I have a suggestion, to change the textarea to a varchar as a lot of players were adding the newline code into their bio's and as soon as they saved that the code for new line would disappear, which meant if they saved another preference, they also had to readd the new line coding to the Additional Bioinfo's.

I changed it to a varchar and even though, the box isn't as pretty, it saves all their text formatting, and having to re-enter them..

the newline is changed into a new line break... means:

you enter

"whoa`nwhat a haul"
and you save
then you have:

"whoa
what a haul"

which is correct.

Yet wrong was that I did not change the code when I displayed it in the bio (from char(13) to `n) which I now corrected.

Thanks, It should be working now, download and test it out.

Colour codes stay, yet `n will simply be saved as new lines. :) makes everything more readable.

Saving them as newlines ("\n") will not work in the HTML code, as newlines are constantly ignored. Only <br>-Tags lead to line breaks in the page display...

that's why I change it only for the display :) it needs only to be displayed in the bioinfo.

ps: logdnet just caused minutelong lags in my game...
*sigh*

this module should work now.

ps: dragonprime has been much faster... whoa... I try to upload the new version for this mod now for about an hour...

So, dig out..

I made some changes to this file (hope its ok) so that it is now as well admin settable that users would have to buy this option at the lodge or need a certain amount of dragonkills or both together.

What I could not figure out is if there is a setting, code or anything that if user forget to close the tags like bolt, italic, or most annoying center  (as the links in the nav will be highlighted)  or if I just have to live with that.

Furthermore if some of those who know better php than me (=try and fix error) could have a look at it as I guess some of my statements could be shortened, for performance reasons or so. Thanks

Regards
Duena

Thanks ^^

I'll look at it later on.

Yes, I had those guys that used center tags etc too, for now they are few and fixed up manually.

Upon generation, you could *count* the flags `c,`i and so on, and if the sum is uneven, add `c or similar to the end of the text.

i did my modifies in sanitize not in bioinfo but this code is all ya need .. replace $out with whatever var you are using..

   if (substr_count($out,"`b")%2 <> 0) $out.="`b";
   if (substr_count($out,"`i")%2 <> 0) $out.="`i";
   if (substr_count($out,"`c")%2 <> 0) $out.="`c";

yeah i dont test if i exceed the string size but eh ever becomes an issue i will deal with it

But what if $out is

Code:
`b`i`cHello

for example.

You would append `b, `i and `c

Code:
`b`i`cHello`b`i`c

But now they are in the wrong order, so I guess appoencode will replace them in the order you gave and it will not work. The inner tags have to be closed first.

As dirty as it feels to do it, they do not have to be in the correct order when closed.

By the way - the easiest "correct" way to manage this would be to block centre, italic and bold tags from bios. They are already blocked from commentary because players would break the whole screen by leaving them open.

So, I made it now as well admin settable if you allow these bold, center, italic tags or not.

Furthermore I fixed a minor mistake I found.

I know it's been awhile but a player on my realm had a request I can't seem to fill and was wondering what change to this module I'd have to make for the text area to allow &hearts; to translate into ♥ like it does in the village chats.

Not sure, but if it helps, the ASCII on that is ALT + 3
Maybe you could insert something into your code to replace &hearts" with "ALT + 3" and that might do it.
